After a few hours

...

The helicopters eventually landed at our military base. There was a somber mood among everyone, as my teammates mourned the death of their friends. Only one soldier from my group managed to escape, while the members of Group B lost only two soldiers. Ghost was also shot in the left arm, but he did not notice it at all, as if it was nothing but a scratch.

The two helicopters landed quite close to each other and since we were all wearing the same uniform, Simon assumed that soldier was me.

But the closer he got to him, the more anxiety began to take over his body. Once he realized this was the only guy left on the team and not his Heroin, he froze and could not move.

Their eyes met and Simon was looking at him with his eyes full of pain and confusion.

"Where is Heroin?" His voice was rougher than ever, and the other soldier became even more frightened of what was about to happen.

"What do you mean? She is with you, right?"

"Stop playing with me"

All the team members, including Soap and Price, gathered around them, not understanding how complicated the situation really was.

"She said she was planning to find you and leave together. I don't get it"

Everyone was too stunned to speak. It only meant two things. I was shot and killed, or I was still alive, captured and being tortured.

They were all surrounded by dead silence. When they heard the distant sounds of vehicles and planes, as well as people chatting and shouting, they snapped back into reality.

For the first time in his life Ghost didn't know what to do. He didn't expect me to do such a thing, especially because he had warned me before the mission even began. For the first time in his life Simon didn't have a plan. He felt like the world had collided, as if destiny had once again decided to play with his feelings.

"Price, I have to go back. I can't leave her like this, even though she might be... " He didn't need to finish the sentence as his eyes already expressed his thoughts and pain.

"I would let you do this Ghost, but not this time. I can't risk your life as you are already injured" Price knew what he had just said was wrong. Price would have done anything to protect me, to save me. But he was so helpless. He knew that Ghost's return would only result in more chaos and death.

"I will go" Soap volunteered. Everyone looked at him but not because they were proud of him but because they couldn't tell if he was joking or not.

"No one is going there, at least not right now" Price ordered and began to make his way to the main base. Just like everyone else, he was still unsure what to do.

...

As soon as I heard the helicopters leave, I began to doubt the decision I had made. I knew Ghost would be disappointed in me. I started to feel guilty and selfish. The thought of him losing me made me realise how stupid I was. But I forced myself not to give up and take things into my own hands. I knew I could do this.

This time fate was on my side. All of the guards were outside, which meant I had a chance to sneak into the main building.

I noticed one guy coming my way and I thought it would be a smart idea to take care of him and steal his clothes. And moments later he was lying lifeless on the ground, just like me that one time when I thought I was going to die.

I took his gun and balaclava. I was wearing his black jacket, which I thought would trick them into thinking that I belonged to this gang. And my plan worked - there were a few guys running past me and they didn't even notice that I was a woman.

It didn't even take me 5 minutes and I was already inside their base. Price never really bothered to tell us where exactly those documents could be placed so that made things even more complicated. I was on the first floor, heard heavy footsteps and constant shouting above me.

I was quite lost and I wasn't quite sure if I was able to kill everybody here. Nevertheless, what else was there for me to do? I had some doubts about Ghost or other guys coming here to rescue me, but it was not the time to think about it.

Before the mission started Price informed us that around 20 guys were protecting this place. Now there were at least 19 left. It took me a while to get used to that quiet voice inside my head that told me I had no chance of surviving. Of seeing Ghost one more time. So I once again became emotionless and began killing guy after guy.

4, 3, 2 ...

The number was counting down and without a single scratch I killed the last one. It took me more than two hours, constantly trying to hide their bodies and move in the shadows. It wasn't as hard as it seemed since all of their men were inexperienced and lacking focus.

I returned to the main base hoping to find the needed documents. Searching every room, remaining silent and cautious. I finally entered the last room. Since I was too exhausted to even hold my gun, I put it on the desk and after searching everywhere I found what I was looking for.

I felt a rush of excitement fill my body, knowing that I had completed this mission without any consequences. But the moment I turned around to leave the room I saw one of the guys standing there waiting to pull the trigger.

So 21 it was.

"Killing an unarmed soldier is unfair" I said, this time fearing this line wouldn't help me like the other times.
