Y/n opened the delivered package with delight, tearing of the wrapping materials and tossing it to the side.
Their smile grew as they titled up the electronic device, holding it closer to their face.
"Okay I have to show you something." Y/n said, clearing their throat.
"Sure thiNg, what is it?" Colin asked curiously, dreamily staring back.
He wondered what the surprise would be, maybe the two of them would go out on a fun activity. Or it could be a gift for him!
Getting lost in thoughts the computer didn't pay attention to his surroundings, nor the sound of a box being unpacked.
From it the human grabbed a flashy, fancy looking laptop. The device stood out like a sore sight.
"WHaTt is THAT?"
"I got from work, new management wants us to work more efficiently and gave every employee one. This is great, I can get more assignments done!"
The computer looked at the laptop like it was worthless, absolutely worthless. The urge to throw it out of a window... it was there.
"But yoU have ME." Colin muttered, offended by the idea he was getting replaced so quickly.
"Trueeee but you said yourself it was a hassle to store the rising pile of my work documents." Y/n nervously mumbled.
Colin visible got flustered, remembering he said that. His old software wasn't able to keep up so good anymore.
But even do that didn't mean he was planning on not helping out. Ever since Y/n fixed him up he wanted to do something back for them.
He tried waving away the concerns. "I'll have plenty of storage to save your important work documents. Just return the laptop."
They smiled back awkwardly. "Hehe... yeah-"
A few weeks went by and nothing went right. The laptop was still here and it was getting unbearable for the computer to watch his favorite human favor it over him.
It wasn't like they where in a relationship but he felt like he was getting cheated on.
Was the thing more efficient? Yes. Did it have any errors or code problems like him? No. Did it have any charm and sass? Absolutely not!
Colin squinted his digital eyes as he watched from the nightstand, seeing Y/n watch some youtube videos on the replacement.
After Y/n went to sleep wishing Colin goodnight, one knew the time had come. The computer silently made it's way to the bureau to grab a hold of the laptop.
Next he walked over to the window opening it, his timing just perfect as a garbage truck was driving by late at night.
Without remorse he chucked the electronic device onto the truck, it sounded like it broke from the fall but it quickly disappeared out of sight.
Ahh how wonderful, now everything would go back to how it was supposed to be.
The next morning was not so peaceful, the neighbors made a complaint about noise disturbance and sounds of violent sobs.
"Where did my laptop goooo?! My documents-"
