A moment in time

CHAPTER 38

I was woken up by the embrace of the sun peaking through the blinds. I opened my eyes rubbing them and it took my brain a few minutes to process my surroundings.

I sat up checking for my phone then remembered I was abducted. I got out of bed rushing out to look for Ndumiso cause I cant miss work today I have many rescheduled meetings that I just cant reschedule again.

"NDUMISO!!" I called out rushing downstairs. I found him sleeping on the couch peacefully,he looked so innocent I almost kissed him.

I walked to him and yanked the blanket away from him then tapped his shoulder.

"Ndumiso?"

He slightly opened his eyes. "Baby?whats going on?"

"Dont fucken call me that. I need to get to work,wake up"I impatiently say patting his shoulder.

"Okay I will wake up now and take you home"

"Ndumiso you better be ready by the time I'm back okay?"

He nods going back to sleep. I rolled my eyes making my way back upstairs to take a quick shower and got dressed in the clothes I came here with before,after what I estimate to be 30minutes I was done.

I rushed back downstairs and found him drinking a very disgusting looking green thing,probably for his hungover.

"Are you done?"

"Yes. When can I expect my car and belongings?"

"I already asked the guys to take it to your house so they probably there guarding it for you"

"Can I go home now?"I asked raising my eyebrow.

He finished what he was drinking and lead the way as I followed behind him to his car.

We came to a halt in front of my house and as promised my car was there parked just outside my estate.

"So...this is it?"he asks switching off the car ignition.

"Yeah"I exhaled looking at him. We locked eyes for a moment and I looked away clearing my throat.

"Goodbye Ndumiso". I unlocked the door and as I opened the door he gently grabbed my arm.

"Please wait. Before we part ways I need you to promise me one thing"

"Ndumiso I don't have the energy to do this"

"Ntwenhle please"

I deeply exhale turning to look at him. "What?"

"I need you to promise me that you will take care of yourself. I wont be always there to protect you from harms way. I just need assurance that you will always be safe...look there's this thing I got you but forgot to give it to you"he says opening his car pocket and taking out a purple phone pouch.

"A pouch?"

"Its not just a phone pouch its a safety pouch. You see that circle at the back,every time you in an emergency you just press it for a long time and it will immediately alarm me that you need my help and that way I can always be there when you need me"

"Ndumiso this is not necessary"

"Milonke it will put my mind at ease and I promise I will never ask you for anything after this"he says opening my hand and placing the pouch in it.

I sighed rolling my eyes. "Okay,can I leave now?"

He didn't answer but instead turned to look in front clenching his jaw.
