"Here is some sugar water to calm you down" Mrs Ntonga says handing me a glass. I flashed her a smile accepting it and placed it on the dining table. The only thing I need is alcohol not water.
After leaving that place Ndumiso and the minister took rushed Lwando to the hospital and I was taken to minister Ntonga's house cause it was "safer" according to him. I didn't even want to argue or question everything so I just agreed.
We heard footsteps approaching and Mr Ntonga appeared. I looked behind him for Ndumiso but he wasn't there.
"Where is Ndumiso?"
"He refused to leave while Lwando is having surgery"
"So you left him there alone?"I ask standing up.
"Don't worry he is fine. His right hand man or friend is there with him plus I also left my bodyguards there with him"he assures.
I exhale. "Still he needs to rest"
"I doubt that he will leave without seeing his brother"
"I know, he is so stubborn"
"Sounds like someone I know"he says chuckling. I rolled my eyes also laughing.
I stopped laughing looking at him.
"I think now is the time for you to actually tell me whats going on. Last time I checked you were in hospital and now you here being the hero. Whats going on were you also part of the kill Milonke team?"
He looked at his wife and she nodded her head before walking away.
"Please sit down"
"No I'm fine"
"We just talked about you and your stubbornness"
I rolled my eyes taking a sit. He also sat next to me.
I felt my heart beating in my throat cause if this is about Zwelethu then I swear Im gonna die. I could feel a huge lump growing in my throat looking at him.
"While I was in prison I fell ill and I became so sick that I had to go to hospital and get checked what caused the illness. I got tested and was told I had a liver failure. After finding out about Zwelethu and his death things became worse-
"Im sorry about Zwelethu I-
"Let me finish Milonke. I got worse after hearing about Zwelethu and I got released from prison. I asked for a discreet release since I wanted time to be with my family and after the funeral I decided to go to a traditional healer to seek for answers on why my life is in shambles and that's when I was told that everything happening in my life is happening because of my ancestors, they have turned their back against me because of a child I had abandoned. Years back I fell in love with a woman I met at a job interview, she was a helper and I was still unemployed but job seeking. We fell in love and everything was okay until she fell pregnant, when she fell pregnant she lost her job because her boss had this crazy policy that once you get sick or pregnant then you get replaced. After I found out I was scared and confused...I was not ready to take care of another human being especially because I was barely surviving myself so when she told me I told her to get rid of the baby or I will leave. After I told her that she told me she wants nothing to do with me anymore and she left the city and went back home. I never saw her after that"
"You cant possibly think that I'm your...no there's no way my father i-
"You look exactly like Mandisa, I also had my assumptions when I first met you but I couldn't bare the thought that I might be your dad. I was so angry at her that I wanted nothing to do with her cause I felt like she was selfish not realizing I was the one who was selfish"
"No...you not my father"
"Mil-
"YOU NOT MY FATHER!!! I DO NOT HAVE A FATHER OKAY?"I screamed.
Mrs Ntonga came rushing to us.
"I need to leave"
"Yo-
"Let are leave. She needs time to process everything"mrs Ntonga interjected. "You can take my car keys"she says looking at me.
We stopped next to her car and she handed me her keys.
"Milonke can I ask you something before you leave" she says as I opened the car door.
"Yes"
"Zwelethu...before he died he mentioned something about a mistake and your name-
"With all due respect ma'am I don't want to talk about that"
"Oh? Okay then"
I got in the car and drove out the estate making my way to the hospital.
As soon as I got to the main road I sped the car. I approached the robots and attempted to slow down the car but the brakes were not working. I stepped on the pedal over and over and quickly swayed the car. It went crashing straight at a car approaching.
There was smoke coming out the bonnet, I felt liquid streaming down my face and tocuhed it only to see blood dripping from my forehead, I panicked and my vision got blurry then everything went black....
Writers message: This is the last insert for A moment in time and it might have taken a while for me to finish it but we made it and words cant describe how grateful I am to everyone who has supported me, this is my first baby and I remember how anxious I was to put this out there cause I didn't know how people would receive it but I'm glad I did. Obviously I will do a part two so y'all better watch out for that but then again thank you for the support and making this journey easier for me. Truly grateful.
