CHAPTER 49

I was woken Ndumiso's cold hands on my arm and judging from how heavy my eyes felt I knew it wasn't morning yet. I turned to look up at him as he stood over me.

"What?"I ask barely opening my eyes.

"I need to tell you something but first you need to promise to not freak out" he says with the most confusing expression on his face.

I sat up rubbing my eyes. "What is it?"

My phone rang before he could utter a word.

"Wait lets talk before you answer that"he says taking my hand before I could reach my phone.

"Ndumiso you are scaring me"

"I received a call informing me that MD is burning"

I felt my chest tighten looking at him. "Mhmm?"

"Someone planted a bomb inside MD and it went off thirty minutes ago,no one got injured but the damage is severe...we need to leave the country Ntwenhle. They are after you"

I zoned out as tears effortlessly escaped my eyes. "Take me there now"

"Ntwenhle that would out you in danger you ca-

"TAKE ME THERE I DONT CARE!!!!"

"I'm sorry but I can't, I ca-

"Do You know who is responsible for this?"

His eyes traveled the room,avoiding to look at me. " My brother might be working with Ndoni to kill you, that's why we need to leave the country"

I furrowed my eyebrows looking at him with hopes of further elaboration on what he just said.

"I don't know everything right now Ntwenhle but I know that if we don't leave right now you might get killed and I don't know if I can trust anyone working for me right now but I promise you I will protect you...you just need to do as I say and trust me"

"Go where?" I hoarsely ask.

"I cant explain now I just need you to get up and get ready...I will go and get Khayi ready"

His phone rings and he quickly takes it out and answers it making his way out of the bedroom.

I stood up and made my way to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth then made my way to my closet to get dressed in my black leggings and a sweater with kicks to finish up the look. I packed my belongings and sat down on the bed to wear my shoes

He walked in as I tied my shoe laces. "I got a tip off that they found out where we hiding...I guess they got to Lwando but its okay I already sorted out everything our ride is 5 minutes away"

"And Khayi?"

"I cant trust anyone with her right now so she is stuck with us"he says tucking his hands in his pockets anxiously.

I exhaled facing up.

"Hey listen" he takes my hands in his looking at me. "I will not allow anything to happen to the both of you...I lost Khayi's mom so I'm not planning to lose you too. I will protect you even if that means killing my own brother"

I nod. "I know"

His phone ringed again. "I'm sure that's our ride,lets go" he says taking my bags. I took my purse and cellphone and followed behind him.

I found a black G wagon outside with two huge men. I greeted them getting inside and Ndumiso walked out carrying Khayi who was fast asleep.

After a 4 hours drive out of the city we arrived at a motel 3 hours outside the city. It didn't even look like people live in this place.

I looked at Ndumiso as we pulled up in front of it. He indicated to the two men that they should get out of the car.
