Klaus POV
Staying away from Tara for even one night had been unbearable. I spent the hours restlessly, listening for the steady rhythm of her heartbeat. She didn't remember everything—not yet—but this felt like a dream I couldn't let myself wake from.

Tara POV
I woke with a strange sense of longing, as if something were missing. But the thought quickly gave way to excitement—today was my wedding day. Rebekah and Freya had stayed with me overnight for a bridesmaids' sleepover, though I couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness that Davina wasn't here to share this with us.

"Finally, you're awake!" Rebekah chirped as she entered the room with two maids in tow. "I let you sleep in, but I didn't think you'd want to waste this much of your wedding day. Now, chop chop!" She clapped her hands, and the maids sprang into action.

One drew a bath, sprinkling flower petals and pouring in fragrant oils, while the other began helping me out of my clothes.

"It's just a milk serum," Rebekah explained as I raised a curious brow. "It'll make your gorgeous brown skin glow even more today."

"Thank you, Rebekah, for everything," I said, my voice catching as tears welled in my eyes.

She knelt and hugged me tightly. "You're going to be my little sister now. I'd do anything for you."

I smiled, wiping away the tears as the maid began painting my toenails white. Then came the waxing. She applied the warm wax to my leg, but when she ripped it off—

"Aghhh!" I screamed.

Rebekah rushed out of the bathroom, only for Klaus's panicked voice to fill the air.

"What's happening? Why is she screaming?" he demanded, his tone sharp with worry.

"She's fine, Klaus. She's just getting waxed," Rebekah explained, exasperated. "And you're not supposed to see the bride before the ceremony."

"I need to see her!" he growled.

"KLAUS, I'M FINE!" I shouted from the bathroom.

There was a long silence before I heard a door slam. Rebekah returned, frowning.

"What kind of spell did you put on my brother?" she muttered.

I couldn't help but laugh at her irritation.

"Oh, you think that's funny?" she smirked, peeling off another strip of wax.

"Agghhh!" I yelled again.

Klaus POV
The screaming finally stopped after thirty minutes. Marcel and Kol strolled into my room, glasses in hand.

"To Klaus!" Marcel cheered.

We clinked glasses, and I took a long sip of bourbon. Sitting down, I watched the two of them snicker over some private joke.

"So, when is Tara going to reconnect with Davina?" Kol asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Who knows," I replied casually.

"Is she coming today?" Marcel pressed.

"No."

"Well, there's your answer," I said with a shrug.

Marcel grinned. "Shouldn't you be getting dressed? It's almost time." He clapped Kol on the shoulder. "Come on, let's leave him to it."

As they left, I turned to the suit laid out on my bed.

Freya POV
"Move that arrangement over there. The flowers need to be more centered," I instructed, pointing to the workers bustling around. The band was setting up, and Klaus had invited every local wolf pack and vampire clan. Elijah insisted it would demonstrate trust. Personally, I thought it was all nonsense.

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed three maids whispering to each other. Their behavior seemed odd, and there was a strange scent lingering in the air.

"Hey, you! Get back to work!" I snapped. They scattered quickly, but the scent stayed with me, raising my suspicion.

Before I could investigate further, Klaus descended the staircase. His hair was slicked back with a deep side part, and his black tuxedo fit him perfectly. White gloves matched the crisp shirt beneath his jacket.

"What are you doing here, Klaus?" I asked.

"Just checking that everything is going according to plan," he said, his voice calm as he surveyed the decorations.

"It is. Now go back upstairs," I insisted.

"You should address the early arrivals, Klaus," Elijah interjected, stepping into view. "And, dear sister, you should start getting ready."

"Thank you, brother," I said, heading upstairs.

Klaus POV
"I'm surprised you decided to show up," I remarked to Elijah with a smirk.

"Of course. I couldn't miss seeing the bride," he replied smoothly, adjusting his tie. He glanced at his watch. "You should start greeting your guests."

I turned to see vampires milling about, admiring the elaborate decor.

"Klaus Mikaelson!"

"Lucien Castle," I greeted, smiling as we clasped hands and hugged.

"So, you're finally tying the knot," Lucien teased.

I nodded, smirking. "Why don't we grab a drink?"

"One drink," I agreed, letting him drape an arm over my shoulder as we headed to the bar.

"Bourbon for my friend here," Lucien called to the bartender.

Tara POV
"You look beautiful," Freya said, stepping into the room.

She wore a light baby blue bridesmaid dress with a one-shoulder strap and a delicate floral pattern at the top. Her hair was styled in a loose bun, with a few soft curls framing her face.

"No, you look beautiful," I replied, tears welling in my eyes again.

"Don't cry," Freya said gently, wiping my tears.

"Don't forget about me!" Rebekah chimed, spinning out of the bathroom. Her dress matched Freya's, except hers had two straps. Her hair was swept to one side, her curls cascading down her shoulder.

They both took my hands.

"Don't worry about a thing," Rebekah said warmly. "I'm so happy we're gaining another sister."

"Aww, you two," I murmured, touched by their words.

"Let me tell them you're ready," Freya said, flashing a smile before stepping out.
