Prompt: The dog ate my homework.
Once upon a time, there was a student named Jack who had a dog named Max. Jack was hard-working in his studies and always made sure to complete his homework on time. One day, Jack was working on an important assignment that was due the next day.
As he was working on it, Max, his mischievous furry friend, entered the room. Jack didn't think much of it and continued working. But as he turned his back for a moment, Max saw his chance and snatched the paper from Jack's desk. Jack was horrified when he turned around and saw the dog happily chewing on his homework.
"No, Max!" Jack exclaimed, but it was too late. The damage had been done. Jack's assignment was in shreds, and he knew he had no choice but to tell his teacher what had happened.
The next day, Jack went to school and explained to his teacher that his dog had eaten his homework. The teacher didn't believe him at first, but when he saw the shreds of paper Jack presented as evidence, he couldn't help but chuckle.
"Looks like you have a real excuse this time, Jack," the teacher said, laughing. "But remember, this won't work every time."
Jack learned a valuable lesson that day about being more careful with his homework and keeping it out of reach from his furry friend. From then on, he made sure to keep all his schoolwork in a safe place, far away from the curious jaws of his beloved dog, Max.
