Prompt: Personification means giving human traits, such as feelings and thoughts, to objects. Personify your Christmas tree. Write a story from the Christmas tree's point of view.

Once upon a time, I was just a small sapling, growing in a vast forest. I had no idea what my future held, but I knew I was destined for greatness.

Years passed, and I grew taller and stronger, reaching towards the sky with every passing day. I watched as my fellow trees were cut down and taken away, but I remained, waiting for my time to come.

And then, one day, it happened. I was chosen to be a Christmas tree, a symbol of joy and love during the holiday season. I couldn't believe my luck as I was carefully cut down and transported to a cozy home.

As I stood in the living room, decorated with sparkling lights and shining ornaments, I felt truly alive. I was no longer just a tree, but a part of a family's cherished memories.

Throughout the holiday season, I watched as the family gathered around me, opening presents and singing carols. I felt their love and warmth as they laughed and joked, making new memories that would last a lifetime.

But as the days passed, I could feel my needles starting to droop and my branches beginning to sag. I knew that my time was coming to an end, but I didn't want to leave my family just yet.

And then, on the day after Christmas, I felt a tug on my trunk. The family was taking me outside, where I would be returned to the earth and become part of the cycle of life once again.

As I was planted back in the ground, I know that my time as a Christmas tree was over. But I also knew that I had fulfilled my purpose, bringing joy and love to the family who had welcomed me into their home.

And as I looked at the stars, I felt a sense of peace and contentment, knowing that I had lived a life full of purpose and meaning.
