it had been a busy few weeks, if not a few months, for violet and ashton. after buying their new house on the beach they had a lot of arrangements to make, a lot of things to do, a lot of people to tell. it was a lot, but they could deal with anything as long as they were together.

the past few weeks, they did a huge amount of packing. boxing up everything from ashton's house to move to their now shared place. arranging to get a moving company to help them with things as well as violet's aunt insisting on helping out.

unpacking in their new home took longer than boxing the items up. things were in different spaces, the rooms were different sizes. everything found its place though, it was all perfect and they made sure to take their time with it.

the first few nights, violet had a little trouble with getting to sleep. nothing ashton hasn't dealt with before with her. a new environment, new bedroom, new location, it was a lot. she settled in, happy to be in ashton's arms.

after they eventually completely finished unpacking everything, they thought it was time to invite their friends over to see the new place they wouldn't stop talking about.

today is that day.

a warm summer afternoon, the perfect time to get out the new barbecue ashton had bought not long ago. cook up some burgers, eat lunch outside in the backyard with the sounds of the ocean not far away.

ashton is busy setting up their fold out table in the yard, violet inside getting a few plates and drink glasses together, when the doorbell rings.

violet stops what she's doing, quickly walking to the front door. she opens it up to see luke standing there with calum, michael and lisa right behind him.

"house warming gift," he smiles, holding a bottle of champagne.

"luke..." violet takes it from him as she steps to the side. "you really didn't have to."

"this is a celebration, isn't it?" calum asks as he walks inside.

"sure, yea," violet nods her head. "uh, ash is out back just setting up, i'm sure he could use some help."

"barbecue experts are here," michael nudges her shoulder as they all start walking in that direction.

violet turns to her aunt, a huge smile on her face. lisa pulls her in for a hug, glancing around at the lovely open space of the house as she does.

"this is a beautiful house, honey," she says as she steps back from violet.

"thank you," violet looks around again herself. "it still feels kind of surreal, you know? i have my dream house, my dream partner, my dream life."

"everything has come together."

"yes, exactly that."

as they talk, violet starts leading lisa down to the kitchen where she'd been getting a few things together. lisa is of course looking around at everything she walks past. extremely happy that this is the place violet will be living in now.

"want me to crack open this champagne?" violet asks.

"i'll just have a soda," lisa shakes her head. "the champagne is for you and ashton to open... plus i'm driving."

"you drove the guys here?"

lisa nods her head, "i offered," she explains. "i knew they'd probably want to let loose for this little celebration so i told them i'd be happy to take them home after."

"well, thank you," violet leans against the counter behind her. "i really—"

"am i interrupting?" ashton says as he peeks his head into the kitchen.
