Demi's POV
I sat there, in Nick's car, clenching onto my stomach. The pain was slowly subsiding and I was starting to feel a little better. Nick looked over at me, just as I was relaxing a little bit. "I think I am going to be okay, my stomach isn't hurting as bad," I said to him. Nick watched me, before focusing back on the road. "If you want to pull over, I think I will be okay. I don't think I need to go to the hospital, Nick" I said to him, but he just looked at me and rolled his eyes.
"Demi, I am taking you to see someone. You were doubled over in pain. There is obviously something wrong," he said, as he continued to drive towards the hospital. "Besides, we are almost there anyways, so just sit back and relax," he said as he gripped the steering wheel and continued to drive without giving me another look.
A few minutes passed by before we ended up pulling into the Emergency Center of the Hospital. Just as we parked, Nick quickly ran around to the side of the car, and helped me get out of the car, which just annoyed me. I wasn't sure why he was trying to help me right now. The last conversation we had was a week ago, when he was telling me that he practically needed space, so why exactly was he here trying to help me. I let out a breath of frustration, "Nick, I have it!" I spat out, as I jerked my arm away from him. Nick looked at me with a sad expression before quickly looking away.
"Okay, well I will get you signed in while you go take a seat," he said just as we walked into the Emergency Room.
"Nick, I don't need you signing in for me, and I certainly don't even need to be here right now. I am fine! Look, I'm not even in any pain anymore," I said again. Nick stood and watched me for a few seconds, and then finally took a step forward.
He spoke in a soft whisper. I think he was frustrated, and didn't want people to hear what he had to say. "Demi, we are here, and you are going to get checked out. I am not going to let you go home. So, you can sit over there and be pissed off all you want, but you are going to get checked out," He said in a firm voice as he narrowed his eyes in on me. I just looked up at him, and nodded my head. I didn't want to fight anymore, I just wanted to get this over with and then get out of here. I quickly turned on my heel and around then walked over towards the set of seats in the waiting room. I sat down, over in the corner, as I watched Nick standing at the desk. He was talking with one of the nurses, and getting the paperwork to fill out. After he received the clipboard, I watched as he came over to sit beside me. "Okay, so we just have to fill out these papers, and then they will be calling you back," he said as he looked over at me with the pen in his hand. I reached for the clipboard, but he held it away from me. "I've got this," he said, making me roll my eyes. He was being ridiculous, and was acting like I was incapable of filling out simple paperwork. It was my stomach that was hurting, not my hand for God's sake. I let out a breath of frustration, and slouched deep in my chair. "What insurance company do you have? Do you have your card?" He asked as he held the pen up, waiting to write. I reached over in my bag, not even saying a word, and grabbed my wallet. I searched for my Blue Cross Insurance Card, and then handed it to Nick. He smiled over at me, and then placed it over on the clipboard. He copied down the information onto the paper and then handed me back the card. I put it back into my wallet, and then watched as he filled out the rest of the information.
While Nick filled out the paperwork, I sat back, in my seat, and watched as people came in and out of the emergency room. It was pretty packed in here, and I was starting to feel a little ridiculous for being here. There were a lot of people who actually needed medical attention. Unlike me, who was just having some minor stomach cramps. "When was your last menstral cycle?" Nick asked, taking me completely out of my thoughts. I quickly looked over at him, and stared hard.
"Huh?" I asked, pretending like I didn't hear what he had just asked me.
"Your menstrual cycle. When was your last one?" He asked again, waiting to write down the date. I sat there, thinking for a second. My heart started to race, and I knew he was going to get pissed.
