Nick's POV

Laying there with Demi, wrapped up in my arms, felt absolutely amazing. I was on such an emotional high, that I didn't want this to end. I knew that I would have to be leaving soon, but I wanted to just lay here, with her, forever. As I laid there, I found it weird that I didn't really have much remorse for Delta after what happened with Demi, but that may be because I was a little preoccupied with my thoughts lately. I have been so worried and focused on Demi these past few days, I haven't really had much time for anything else.I looked down at Demi, as she started to shift in my arms. She looked up at me, with those beautiful brown eyes of hers, and gave me the biggest smile. The more I watched her, the more my heart longed for her. I missed waking up to her everyday. Things with Delta just weren't the same. We were no longer on the same page, and I was beginning to think that we were just trying to force something to work.

"What are you thinking about?" Demi asked, taking me away from my thoughts.

I looked down and smiled at her. "Oh, just how much I wish I didn't have to leave," I said as made a pouty face. Demi sat up on her elbows, while laying on her stomach.

"Then don't go. Stay with me," she said as she watched me with a smile. My heart ached, as I continued to stare at her. I wish it were that simple.

"Demi.."

"I know... you can't. It just would be nice. It was nice feeling something so good, even if it were just for the night," she said as she looked down at her fingers. I heard her let out a deep sigh before continuing again. "You know, I miss you, Nick," she said as she kept her gaze down. A smile appeared on my face. I missed her so much, but apart of me was still hanging onto Delta, and I wasn't sure why.

I reached over and lifted her chin up, so that she would look at me. "I miss you, too. I miss this," I said as I leaned in and kissed her lips softly. We both smiled and then continued to lay there, quietly, and in silence.

"I should get going," I said as brushed my fingertips along her cheek. She nodded her head as she kept quiet, and then stood up from the bed, to find her clothes. I did the same, and together, we both got dressed without say a word.

"Oh hey," Demi said, causing me to look over at her as I pulled my pants up over my briefs. "What did you want to talk to me about?" She asked as she slid her shirt on and then came over to sit on the edge of the bed.

"Huh?" I asked, a little unsure of what she was talking about.

"In the parking lot you said you wanted to talk to me about something. Then when I tried to bring it up again, you told me that it wasn't the right time, so what is it that you wanted to talk about?" She asked as she just watched me.

I let out a deep sigh. I didn't want to have this discussion right now because I didn't want Demi more stressed than she already was. I know that she had a lot on her plate, and this was the last thing she needed to deal with right now. "Demi, let's talk about it after your surgery," I said as I tried to brush it off, giving her a soft smile, but she just shook her head.

"No, Nick. Tell me. What is going on?" She eagerly asked.

"I didn't want to bring this up because of everything you have going on right now. This is the last thing you need on your mind." I tried to explain to her.

"Just tell me," she said again, still not budging.

"Ok, so after we talked the other day, I told my Private Investigator, whom I hired, what you told me about Wilmer. I told him that it was silly, but that we should probably check it out," I said as I looked at her and then sat over on the bed next to her. She just watched me. "Demi, your story checked out. My PI tapped into his phone records and there has been a series of calls between him and two other phone numbers. All within the same time frame. They spend the same amount of time talking to each other, and it's daily.," I said as I waited for her to catch up with what I was saying.
