Avery's POV

I saw all the hate Lando was getting. His fans actually loved his honesty about the car but his team definitely didn't, his sponsors didn't either.
It wasn't a smart thing to do even though I understood his frustration.
We didn't really talk much after that night in Monaco. I felt bad for knocking on his door but I realized how much of a fool I was for cheating on him.
After Charles didn't let me in because his family was there, I realized he didn't want anything with me, just sex. Something I would be grateful for a couple of months ago but not anymore.
Lando made me experience true love and that's all I wanted right now.
It was so different to have sex with someone you had actually feelings for.

I saw Lando walking passed the media center. I think he spend half an hour signing things and taking pictures with the fans.
He looked handsome. He didn't look at me, maybe I had to try and get him out of his mood.

Lando:

Good luck at Quali today!
You look handsome

Thank you!
Do u want to grab lunch?

Sure
Mclaren hospitality?

Reading my mind love

My heart skipped a beat when I read his last message. It definitely made me realize that I missed him more than I wanted to admit.

I walked to the Mclaren hospitality but unfortunately not before I passed Millie.
She had the biggest smirk on her face so I knew she was up to something. "So I had the most amazing night" she said. Honestly I didn't care at all. I didn't even reply, I just wanted to walk away.
"I had sex with Lando" she continued and she definitely had my attention now. I turned around and looked at her. "Yeah, he invited me over. He wanted to get his frustration out and he definitely did that" she winked at me. That fucking wink.
I didn't want to believe her, she lied so many times before but I actually believed her now.
He was single so he could do whatever he wanted but why Millie? With all the girls, why her?
"I hope you had fun" I replied with a smile on my face. I wasn't gonna give her the pleasure.
I really wanted to get mad or whatever but it wasn't worth it.

I just walked to the Mclaren hospitality. Lando was probably the last person I wanted to see right now but I promised I would grab lunch with him and I actually wanted to talk to him.
"So I just heard something interesting" I said as I sat down with Lando. "Oh yeah? Tell me" he raised his eyebrow with a smile. How could he pretend like nothing happened when he actually fucked Millie of all people. "So I just ran into Millie and she said that she had an amazing night" I started. His face changed a little so I knew it was true. "With you" I looked him straight in the eyes. I didn't want to accuse him or anything but I didn't need to.
His face said enough. "Look Lando, I can't tell you what's right or wrong but Millie? Really?" He put his elbows on the table and put his hand through his hair. "I honestly don't know what's wrong with me Avery. I just continue to make stupid decisions like staying at this team. Worst decision ever" he was trying to change the subject. I realized that but I wasn't gonna mention it.
"No, you should just work with them and try to make the car better instead of focusing on the bad things" I said. He just looked at me and nodded.
"How are you and Charles?" He asked. He definitely wanted to change the subject but he was in for a surprise. "We're great friends, I met his girlfriend, she's really nice" his face showed what he was thinking. He probably thought Charles and I got together again but instead I went to see him to end things completely. Forever now.
I needed to work on myself, I needed to love myself first.

"But I hope you used a condom though" I said as I got up while grabbing some food.
I actually didn't want to look at him anymore. I could pretend I was fine with that but I honestly wasn't.
"Wait Avery please" he said as he got up too and walked after me.
I turned around and looked at him.
We were so toxic to each other, we were always hurting the other. Maybe we just weren't meant to be.
