Lando was right. I had to go back. I felt at home in the paddock and I missed everyone. I had to face my demons, I just wasn't sure if I could do this alone. I was sitting on the couch with my laptop on my lap, just scrolling through jobs. I applied to several jobs, mostly media jobs. It's something I was good at and liked doing.
Scott was coming over for dinner, it's been a while since I saw him. I was nervous about it because I knew he would want me to give him an explanation too. I grabbed my phone and scrolled through Instagram. I just wanted to kill time. I stopped when I saw Lando's latest picture. How was I supposed to get over him when he looked like that?
I remember the times we had sex. It was amazing. I closed my eyes as I imagined his hands all over my body. I liked his gentle touches and his soft kissed on my neck. "Did you figure out what you wanna do yet?" Scott and I were sitting at the table together. We had a nice dinner together. "I applied to some jobs" I shrugged my shoulders as if it wasn't a big deal but it actually was. "So Lando visited me" he titled his head a little with a smile on his face. He was always our biggest supporter. "And what happened?" He asked. "He kissed me and I kissed him back" I explained. He definitely didn't expect that but I could see he was happy about it. "So you guys are back together?" I frowned. How could he think that when he knew Lando was dating Millie? "No because he's literally dating someone else" it was his turn to frown right now. "Who's he dating then?" I think we were both confused now. "Millie" he chuckled a little and he shook his head. "Since when?" What does he mean? Doesn't he know they were dating? "I don't know. Millie told me" he rolled his eyes. "Look Avery, I've never seen a guy more in love with someone than he is with you. In all these months you were gone, he always asked about you, always wanted to be sure you were okay even though you ghosted him. He's not dating Millie, he fired her" I couldn't believe this. Why did Millie lie about that? I told him to go and he didn't call or text me since then. It's been a couple of weeks since then.
"I fucked up Scott" I looked down at the table. I wanted to be loyal to Millie but I realized now that she was never loyal to me. "But there's always a chance to make things right again. I've heard he will be at the car launch next week" he winked at me. He probably had to film there. "And you can get me in?" I smirked at him. "I certainly can" we both started laughing.
I had to fix things. First on the list was the most important one. It was getting the love of my life back.
