What If Ash was in Pokemon Horizons?

Ash walks along the path to Glaseado Mountain, he spots a pack of black-colored Tauros and hides within some nearby bushes. "There they are, now I just need to find the Blaze Breed." 

Ash spots a Tauros with red marks in its mane, seemingly the leader of the herd. "There it is!" he sends otu Quaxwell. "Go Quaxwell! Say Tauros, you wanna have a battle?"

Tauros gets angered and starts to attack, Ash watches it's movements, remembering his 30 Kantonian Tauros. He has Quaxwell use his quick feet and dancing skills to land swift water hits with Water Gun and Aqua Jet, eventually Tauros is defeated and Ash catches it with a Poke Ball.

"Nice! Now we've got a perfect counter to Grusha's Ice Types!" Ash exclaimed.

"Quaxwell!" Quaxwell cheered.

Ash arrives on Glaseado Mountain, seeing a nearby magazine rack. He picks up an issue, "The story of Grusha, Glasado's cold-hearted Gym Leader."

Ash flipped through the pages, "Seems like he was into snowboarding, so much he never lost. Then a Cetoddle came onto his path and caused him to crash, he quit after that and caught the Cetoddle and it became his Cetitan."

"Seems like you're into getting to know your opponents." Ash heard the voice by his ear, he turns around to see Grush standing dangerously close to him. "Gah!" Ash jumped back.

Grusha didn't react, "I would expect my opponents to be training, but you are the World Monarch. Guess you think you've got this in the bag, but I'm not going easy on you."

"Oh I'm ready alright!" Ash grinned, "I'll battle you right now!"

Grusha chuckled, "Then follow me to the Gym."

Grusha led Ash to the battlefield and sends out a large round Pokemon that's white and grey with short chubby limbs and sharp teeth. "Who's that Pokemon?" Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone.

"Cetitan, Terra Whale Pokémon and the evolved form of Cetoddle, an Ice Type, This Pokémon wanders around snowy, icy areas. It protects its body with powerful muscles and a thick layer of fat under its skin."

Ash sends out Tauros, who isn't trustful of Ash, but it doesn't back down from a fight. The battle begins, Grusha and Cetitan are in total sync. Meanwhile, Tauros only attacks with Raging Bull and Close Combat, hardly taking Ash's words into account. Tauros takes a beating, but it keeps fighting, and so does Cetitan, eventually, both battlers Terastallize, Cetitan becomes a Tera-Ice type and Tauros becomes a Tera-Fire type and Tauros a Fire Tera Type, the two Pokemon clash, and Tauros finally obeys Ash and strikes with a boosted Fire Blast, knocking out Cetitan.

Ash and Grusha shake hands, "You passed, congrats." Grusha said.

Ash raised an eyebrow, "You already came to that?"

"You won, didn't you?" Grusha asked, "Seems like a pass to me."

Ash begins walking down Glasado Mountain, satring at Tauros' Poke Ball. "Well buddy, looks like me and Tauros are gonna have to work on being friends."

"Pika Pi." Pikachu sighed.

By the evening, Ash rushes out of a Flying Taxi that lands in Levincia. Spotting a crowd in the center of the town, he reunites with Liko and Roy as Dot Terastallizes Quaxly into a Tera-Water type. Quaxly uses Low Kick repeatedly as of Dot's commands. Quaxly suddenly hits Bellibolt with a blast of water from the nearby puddles with just his feet. "Woah, that's gotta be Liquidation!" Ash exclaimed.

Iono grins for the camera and Terastallizes Bellibolt into a Tera-Electric type. Bellibolt strikes Quaxly with Discharge as Quaxly fires back with Liquidation, Discharge overpowers it and knocks Quaxly out.

Dot recalls Quaxly, "Well, I lost."

Iono goes up to her, "And? What else?"

Dot laughed, "And I also had fun."

"Exactly!" Iono exclaimed, "And having fun is totes part of being a good Pokemon trainer, so the results are in, and you passed!"

Dot's friends rush over to congratuate her, Dot notices Ash, "Ash! How was Glasado Mountain? Did you pass your test?"

Ash grinned, "You know it!"

"I mean, he is the World Monarch." Roy remarked.

Ash feels his Rotom Phone buzz, "You have a call from: Director Clavell."

Ash answers his Rotom Phone, "Hey Director Clavell! Uh-huh, yeah we all passed our Basic Tests. Alright I'll tell them."

Ash put his Rotom Phone in his pocket. "So Director Clavell wants us to go back to Naranja Academy, but before we do, he wants us to write reports on some wild Pokemon and turn them in to Jacq."

Dot sighed, "Well, it's a long way back, if we walk back it should buy us enough time to make our reports."
