What If Ash was in Pokemon Horizons?

The Flower Tower

Ash, Liko, Dot and Roy head to a river to do a report on wild Pokémon. Dot pulls out Friede's Pokémon distribution map to help them. They set up camp by the river, though Liko struggles to put up her tent. A rope dangles in Liko's hand, causing Floragato to get mesmerized by it and grab at it. Liko and her tent fall into the river below.

"I'm gonna go train Nymble." Ash stood up, "Think It'll make a good report."

"Just be careful, there's a ton of Pineco living here." Dot said, looking at her Rotom Phone.

Ash sent out Nymble and began battling some wild Pokemon, mostly Pineco as Ash had his Rotom Phone float around to take numerous videos. Eventually he heard Liko's voice "Terapagos, where are you?!"

"Seems like Liko needs help," Ash said, "Return, Nymble."

Ash recalls Nymble and finds Liko with her Pokemon nearby, Terapagos noticeably missing. "Hey Liko, what's going on?"

Liko sighed, "Terapagos wandered off again, and Floragato's upset with me and I still don't know what to do my report on, but Dot suggested something called the 'Pillar of Petals'."

Ash kneeled down to Floragto's level, "What's up, Floragato?" he reached to pet her.

As soon as Ash's hand touched Floragato's fur, he stepped back. "Ouch, since when was your fur so spiky?"

"Floragato, can you please help us look?" Liko seemed to beg, as if she had already asked before. Floragato simply turns away, Liko deflates in response. Ash notices Floragato turn back towards her, almost as if she's reconsidering, but then turns away from her trainer again once she sees Liko doting over Hatenna. "I think I know what's going on here." Ash declared.

The group suddenly heard the sound of Terapagos, quickly coing across a lake with familar footprints nearby. "I'll check those out, Floragato, hold Hatenna."

Liko placed Hatenna into Floragato's arms, Floragato rolls her eyes, which Hatenna picks up on. Ash walked closer to Floragato, "Y'know Floragato, Pikachu was like you too." Floragato perked up as Ash continued, "I had a Riolu a while ago, I wanted him to be the best battler ever, so I trained with him again and again. But Pikachu got jealous and ran away back to Pallet Town. I realized that I should've paid more attention to all of my Pokemon. But, Liko's trying her best, more than what I did back then. Hatenna and Terapagos need a ton of attention, so Liko didn't mean to forget about you, but she doesn't have the time right now to pay attention to you. Maybe if you help out, you two can make some time."

"Pika! Pika!" Pikachu said reassurances to Floragato, ensuring her that she's not alone, but Liko still loves her.

Floragato seemed to the think for a bit, before noticing Liko was nowhere in sight, "She musti've wandered off while we were chatting." Ash realized, "Let's follow those footprints!"

Ash, Pikachu, Floragato and Hatenna follow the footprints to find Terapagos stuck on its back crying. Hatenna squirms out of Floragato's arms and tries to help it up, to no avail. Ash kneeled beside Floragato, "You can start helping out, right now."

Floragato sighed and helped Terapagos up. They hear an explosion in the distance, "I know Pineco are common here." Ash recalled Dot's words and remembered Brock's Forretress, "Pineco don't explode on their own, only provoked in battle, Liko might be in trouble, let's head over."

The group arrive and fall into a ravine, seeing Liko surronded by pink Pokemon looking similarly to Tentacool, Ash pulls out his Rotom Phone to scan them. "Who's that Pokemon?"

"Toedscool, the Woodear Pokémon. A Ground and Grass type. They make their homes in damp forest land. Although their legs seem thin, they can run up to 30 miles per hour."

"If that's a Toedscool, then it must evolve into Toedscruel!" Ash declared.

Floragato rushes to protect Liko, but Liko embraces her to calm down her Pokemon, not caring about the spiky fur. "It's okay, the Toedscool didn't hurt me. Floragato relaxes, it;s fur turning soft once again.

"So what's going on here?" Ash asked.

"The Toedscool are trying to get rid of the vines," Liko explained, pointing to nearby vines hanging over the ravine were blocking out the sun.

"Well, we can help with that!" Ash turned to Pikachu, "Right, buddy?"

"Pika!" Pikachu exclaimed.

The Toedscool form a ladder to help Liko, Ash and the Pokemon out of the ravine. Floragato and Pikachu get rid of the vines with Magical Leaf and Iron Tail. The Toedscool turn around, waiting for something as the heat from the sun intensifies. A strong wind blows through where the vines were, creating a twister in the ravine as the Toedscool rejoice. They all fly into the twister, releasing flaps into the swirling winds. 

"This must be the Pillar of Petals!" Liko beamed.

"Woah!" Ash said in awe.

Ash and Liko return to the camo by nightfall, "There you are!" Roy exclaimed. "Where've you been?"

"We saw the Pillar of Petals!" Liko exclaimed, "Turns out they weren't petals, they were Toedscool flaps."

"Woah, that'll make a great report." Roy said.

"What kinda pictures did you get?" Dot asked excitedly.

Liko stiffened, "I forgot to take a picture." she brightened up in an instant, "But I'll draw a picture instead!"

"I've got enough footage of Nymble battling for my report!" Ash exclaimed.

"I've pretty much finished my report." Dot said.

Roy deflated, "I still don't know what to do my report on."

Liko smiled, "Don't worry Roy, you'll find something to write about."
