"Ughhh I don't want to go back," Cher groaned, floating in the large colorful hot tub that seriously could've been considered a small pool—count on Cher's parents to get only the most expensive things. "School seriously shouldn't be a thing," she said, subtly gliding back and forth while Karter and I remained seated beside Davis—who kept jokingly flicking water at Cher.

I sighed, running my arms through the water, "Maybe we could just run away and backpack across the world?"

I know you think I'm joking, but I would actually do it. School is literally the epitome of Hell on Earth.

These past few days after New Year's flew by, especially with teaching Kloan new tricks and getting him potty trained. On top of that, hanging out with Cher and Davis seemed to make the time fly by even faster.

Cher sat up from the hot water, "What an excellent idea—I'll just need to change my entire identity so my parents don't kill me," she said, clearly being sarcastic.

Karter laughed, "I think even after an identity change, my moms would still find me."

"Very factual," Davis easily agreed, chuckling to himself as he flicked water at Cher, who let out an annoyed groan.

"One more time Davison—you got one more time," Cher raised her manicured nail carefully.

I raised a brow, "Wait, Davison?"

Davis huffed, "Wait to put my government name out there Cheryl," he said, which easily earned a laugh from me.

If it's anything that Cher hates the most, it's her full name—especially since her parents call her that.

"Davis!" she yelled out, splashing water on him which easily made Karter and I's arms shoot up to shield ourselves.

I hummed sarcastically, looking over to Karter, "Time to get out?"

Karter nodded, "Time to get out," she agreed, standing from the bench.

I stood as well, exiting the hot tub behind Karter as she grabbed our furry towels, "You kids have fun," I joked, looking over to Cher and Davis who were now full-on splashing each other.

Karter shook her head at them, "We got out just in time."

I smiled slightly at the two, knowing someday soon they'd make it official, "We totally did," I agreed with her.

"We'll see you guys tomorrow!" Karter called as we began walking toward the entrance to Cher's house.

David waved, splashing Cher back as she let out an irritated huff.

"See you guys!" Cher called, even if it was slightly muffled by water.

Soon, Karter and I were in her quiet warm Jeep as she drove toward my house—the ground was misted with a sheer amount of snow, and the weather seemed to be dropping day by day.

"How many clips do you have so far for videography?" Karter asked curiously, breaking the comfortable silence.

I hummed lazily, "I think around eighty? I don't know I've been filming any time we're together."

"Yeah, I have around ninety, especially with how often we do things," Karter said, her voice low and smooth.

It was such an oddly normal moment—like we were just two normal people dating.

But we both knew that wasn't the case unless someone forfeited the bet—and I knew I couldn't possibly do that.

Karter put the Jeep into park in front of my house, causing me to unbuckle my seatbelt.
