(Y/n) sighed as she fiddled with the sleeve of her shirt. She wore a white blouse with a light jade ribbon tied into a bow at the collar and a matching skirt that reached mid thigh, along with sheer leggings that matched her skin tone and her slippers. The green color reminded her of Alhaitham, who was often seen wearing shades of green. She shook her head at the thought of the man she could call her teacher as she followed Itto who droned on about the decor of the halls as he walked in front of her as if he was a tour guide.

He had barged into her room and was nailed on the head by a book that she grabbed from the nightstand. She was annoyed he had entered suddenly and unannounced, it almost gave her a heart attack. After she was done scolding Itto about not having manners when it came to barging into people's room without permission he sheepishly apologized and told her he had planned to give her a tour of the mansion.

Although (Y/n) liked the idea of the tour, she was worried about encountering the other demons that inhabited the place. While she felt relatively safe with the ones she knew, she couldn't be too sure about the others. Ayato was already suspicious, and it wasn't easy to tell what Alhaitham's ulterior motives were. While Itto was the complete opposite of the two, she wasn't sure what he was the avatar of and he seemed quite strong. The definition of brawn for brains.

However, she ultimately decided to go with the flow and focus on the tour to make a mental map of the mansion. They had just started and Itto had talked about the wing that she and Alhaitham occupied. The library was also nearby, along with the indoor greenhouse. Since Itto already knew she had seen the library—Ayato had informed him that Alhaitham had taken her under his wing—he decided to show her the greenhouse before anyone else had the chance to.

"Where are we going?" The human looked around when they entered a hall that no longer looked familiar to her.

"If I told you then it wouldn't be a surprise! Anyways as I was saying, this place is inspired by the Sumeru's Academia era. Something about those designs make this place look nerdy but pretty cool looking. Too bad it's not as amazing as my wing with Ayato. But I gotta say our art never captures what I actually look like. If I ever get a portrait of myself inspired by the Academia era then I'd look extra cooler!" Itto exclaimed.

"Where are you from?"

"Inazuma, but that's all I know about the place."

(Y/n) gave him a look, "But you remember the art style you specifically don't like from your homeland?" She watched Itto shrug.

"Ayato tried painting me and exposing me to our culture but I've been told that I have this—whatcha call it... ambrosia...? Ammonia?"

"Amnesia?"

"Yeah that! I've had that ever since I arrived here. Don't know why, and part of me that probably remembers the past gives me a feeling that I shouldn't bother looking into it."

His lack of care for his past made (Y/n) wonder. She didn't think it was possible for someone to end up in hell to repent but not remember what they did wrong. Unless it was his punishment? Yet, she didn't know what he could've done to have such an odd one. She wondered if she'd feel relief for not knowing her past. Would she feel better not remembering the last moments of her life? Or would it haunt her that there was something she should know but couldn't remember.

Her (e/c) eyes followed Itto's broad back as he continued to lead her to their destination.

Perhaps some things are best left forgotten.
