Dawn had yet to arrive when eyelids opened to be met with darkness. The individual's irises adjusted to let in more light into their eyes to see better. The only source of light came from the jade green cuffs and its chain. They relaxed when they felt the other person beside them shift in their sleep. Two naked bodies lying together in bed made a comfortable warmth that seeped into their bones and would've lulled them back into a deep sleep if they weren't tired. They shifted to lie on their side and wrapped their arm around the one lying beside them, pulling them closer.

Alhaitham's eyes adjusted to the darkness as he stared at (Y/n)'s sleeping face, two thin rings of turquoise and red formed as a result of making black voids in his pupils. His digits caressed her back, gently tracing her spine and making shapes on the surface of her smooth skin. His eyelids lowered when she leaned into his touch.

His hand slid up her back, over her shoulder, and onto her neck. His fingers brushed against her throat until they reached her jaw; he traced the pads of his fingers over it. His fingertips caressed her cheek and he leaned in to rest his forehead against hers.

He softly exhaled from his nose. "Thank him for 'betraying' you, if he didn't..."—his husky voice rasped—"I wouldn't be letting you go." He whispered.

He waited for dawn.

As she continued to sleep, oblivious to his actions, and the storm brewing in his mind for what was to come.

He didn't know how much time passed until the faint light of dawn began to peek through the windows of his room.

The restraints he put on her began to fade, breaking apart into particles of green before they faded away, and along with it, his brief moment of peace.

She was free to do whatever, and free to go wherever she wanted.

The witch no longer sought sanctuary within his confines. The thought had his eyes narrowing and the corners of his lips tilting down.

He sighed and sat up.

Alhaitham got out of bed, put his clothes on, and then walked out of his room. It took a few steps before he got to the room across his and opened the door. He made his way over to the wardrobe and opened it. His eyes flitted over the articles of clothing inside before he took out a jade-green dress and made his way back to his room.

He kicked the door closed once he walked past the entrance and walked over to his bed. He rolled up the dress and tossed it at her. It gently smacked her on the head.

(Y/n) stirred and let out a groan when the dress landed on her head. Her hands tiredly patted the bed as they made their way over to the item that hit her.

"It's the crack of dawn. Get dressed before Pride gets impatient and takes you back." His eyelids drooped when her hands stopped moving. She was falling back asleep. "Naked."

It snapped her back to the land of reality, right before she could doze off into dreamland. She lazily tugged the dress off her head and cracked her eyes open. She stared at the ceiling.

The witch squinted her eyes when Alhaitham came into view.

"Get up."

(Y/n) only blinked in response.

"..." The demon glanced at the blanket that covered her before he yanked it off.

"H—Hey wait!" She whined and sat up when cold air hit her body, causing goosebumps to rise. She did her best to cover herself with the dress in her hands.
