The blade was further pressed onto (Y/n)'s neck. She gulped when her attacker loomed over her.

He blew away the strands of fluffy ginger tresses that fell over his eyes in an annoyed manner. She would've complimented his curly lashes if he wasn't attempting to stab her, and his dull ocean blue irises told her that she should say something soon before she'd lose her head.

"I was looking for my cat..." (Y/n) slowly spoke, her voice barely above a whisper as she pointed a finger at Leaf who meowed as if to confirm what she was saying.

"Your cat huh?" The man's low raspy voice matched his rugged appearance. His grey suit was tattered on one side, there were some spots that had red splotches. The woman hoped it wasn't blood but she'd be a fool to think it was strawberry jam.

"Yeah... his name is Leaf..." She awkwardly spoke, trying not to gulp or the blade would draw blood. She was still trying to recover from smacking her head on the floor when she fell and the adrenaline was beginning to rush in. Her (e/c) eyes scanned over the man's face, avoiding his eyes as much as possible.

The freckles on his face acted like a game of connect-the-dots and made an interesting game for her eyes to trace as her brain tried to make sense of something. Perhaps she had a concussion.

Seeing that she wasn't worth the hassle the ginger pulled back his blade and stood up, still holding Leaf with the other hand.

"I found him wandering around. It's been a few days since then and I haven't seen anyone else come claim him, which means finders keepers."

(Y/n) finally snapped herself out of her trance, "He's my cat." She frowned as she sat up.

"Well regardless of whether or not if he is, you weren't around for days when I found him and took care of him. What kind of owner leaves their pet unattended, especially out in the wild?"

"I... I had no control over the circumstances that led to us getting separated. He's not even suppose to be here..." The trespasser got up and began to dust herself off.

"Well here he is." The tall man held up Leaf with smirk. "It's a rare occasion to see a cat down here... he probably sells for a lot—"

"You have no right to treat him like property! He's a companion, not an item to be sold on a whim!" (Y/n) couldn't help but snap. She missed Leaf so much and the guilt of not saving him before weighed heavily on her.

However, this would be the first time she'd meet a demon with a temper.

"Well it's a shame you're on my property. In my territory, and in my room." The demon stomped over to (Y/n), the blade still in his hand but not pointed at her. Yet, it was enough to startle her a bit and he was able to back her up into the wall.

He was unpredictable, she couldn't tell if he'd seriously hurt her or not. His poker face made it even harder to tell what he was thinking, the only clue was the hardened look his eyes gave her.

"Y—You can't hurt me!" She raised her voice and did her best to stand her ground.

A low chuckle escaped the demon as he twirled the knife in his hand. He held Leaf away from his torso when the cat began to hiss and bare his canines at the ginger. "Ah look at that! A feisty koshka you are~" He let out a laugh but his attention was focused on the (h/c) haired woman. His piercing gaze drank in her attire, blue eyes lingering on the jade green. "Now... who said I was going to hurt you...?" His voice lowered by an octave.

"You already did." She glared at him.

"It was simply self defense. How would you like it if I came into your room uninvited?"
