It would've been an understatement to say that she was in pain.
The moment (Y/n) woke up it felt as if her whole body had been tossed down a rocky cliff and slammed onto the surface of the ocean, where she'd then be dragged by the currents to hit any rocky terrain hidden within the depths of the ocean.
The groggy groan that escaped her lips caused her to feel a shift on the side of the bed. She slowly lifted her hand to pet what she assumed was her cat.
Whatever she felt was soft.
But it wasn't fur.
It wasn't—?
Her (e/c) flew opened and she snapped her head to the side to see a man.
One she'd never seen before.
Who oddly looked like her cat.
Similarly colored teal eyes stared back at her. The only difference was the uniquely shaped pupils that she was so accustomed to seeing in the eye of the Avatar of Lust.
"W—Who the hell are you!" She yelped, her hoarse voice cracking at the end.
The man had his arms propped up on her bed and he was leaning over her, checking on her the moment she awoken.
"Dainsleif," he had a deep voice, "your familiar." His platinum blonde locks were somewhat fluffier on either sides of his head, giving him a look of a cat with their ears down. His tresses for the most part fell down straight, barely long enough to brush against his shoulders, but perfectly framed his handsome face. His bangs brushed against his forehead as he moved closer to her, allowing her to get a better look at him.
He was clad in black from head to toe, with accents of blue and gold. The cape that was draped over his shoulders resembled the inside of the odd gate-like structure she fell through during the ley line investigation. His right arm reminded her of Zhongli's, while the golden demon's arms were a dark brownish-black with golden veins, Dainsleif's was a blackish-blue with blue glowing veins. The mask that covered the right side of his face matched his exposed right arm and framed his eye.
Despite his rather intimidating presence, the features of his beautiful face were quite soft when he wasn't frowning. He peered down at her through his long lashes as he observed her wellbeing.
"H—Huh...? But my... where's my cat?!" At this point, the witch strongly believed that she was losing it.
"He is your cat." Another voice chirped, thankfully one she knew.
(E/c) orbs turned to the entrance of the room to see Kaeya holding a tray with food on it, a small but dashing smile was present on his lips.
The sound of a page being flipped caught her attention and her gaze snapped towards its direction to see Alhaitham sitting at his desk. The stoic look on his face was undisturbed by the odd event occurring.
His desk...?
(Y/n) looked around to see that she was in her teacher's room, "What...?" Was the only thing she could muster out. She didn't even remember traveling back to the mansion from the domain.
"Ah you must be terribly confused right now." Kaeya, now at her side, gently placed the tray on the nightstand next to the bed.
"Very fucking confused." She nodded and winced at the pain from her neck doing so. She faintly heard Alhaitham clicking his tongue and muttering a 'filthy' under his breath.
