"What are you doing?!" Dainsleif snapped as he quickly stormed towards them. His hand gripped a fistful of Kaeya's hair as he yanked his head away from (Y/n). He frowned when the demon smacked his hand away in retaliation.

Heterochromatic eyes met teal ones. "I'm helping her." He sneered, "What else would I be doing?"

The blonde scoffed. "How is that," he gestured to Lust's lips then towards the unconscious woman in his arms, "helping?"

Kaeya swiped off the green liquid of the potion from the corner of his lips with his thumb. "She was good as dead when I found her. If we weren't next to Yae's potion lab... she would've kicked the bucket moments before you arrived." He tilted his head towards the direction of the room that had the stash of healing potions.

Dainsleif narrowed his eyes as he glanced at all the empty glass bottles scattered across the room. "You could've just fed it to her with the bottle—no... what if they weren't healing potions?" He raised his voice. "What made you sure they were even healing potions in the first place?"

Kaeya's eyes darkened and his lips twitched up a bit. "By testing it on myself of course."

The demon clad in black frowned and opened his mouth to say something but was cut off.

"I had my reasons to give it to her the way I did." Lust sighed and held (Y/n) close to him, leaning his head down to rest on top of hers. He looked rather uneasy—stressed.

Despite catching Kaeya in a suspicious act, Dainsleif didn't sense any malicious intent from the demon. However, it didn't negate his overprotectiveness that started to seep in. "That doesn't mean that you can do what—"

"There's no analgesic," Kaeya huffed. "I gave her some of my element, adding small dosages with each healing potion I gave her." His eyes glanced towards the empty glass bottles. "The amount I gave her should be sufficient enough." He averted his eyes to meet the former familiar's gaze once again.

"You should've said that from the start then." He snapped.

"Oh please, you came storming in without giving me a moment to process your presence or explain myself." The Avatar of Lust's eyes held a certain coldness in them. "While you were out there making a scene I had to run about making sure that (Y/n) didn't bleed to death!"

Dainsleif winced as if stung by his words, but he knew Kaeya was right. He clenched his fists; there was nothing he could say to refute that.

"So don't even bother giving me crap for what I did." He muttered and glanced down at (Y/n) in his arms. His cold fingers gently brushed against her cheek. "I'll do it again if I have to. I don't care if she hates me for it." His eyes darkened. "...She'll just have to learn not to scare me like this ever again."

Despite the state that (Y/n) was in, the Demon of Eternity had reassured Dainsleif that she wasn't terribly injured. He begged to differ seeing the injury with his own eyes. It was a good thing that Kaeya was present for this whole ordeal, however, Dainsleif would be lying if he said he wasn't disappointed in himself for being blinded and carried away by his hatred towards Celestia. Ei had gone against the Heavenly Principles and never participated in the downfall of Khaenri-ah. He had no reason to pick a fight with her— besides her severely injuring (Y/n), but even that was a stretch. (Y/n) willingly allowed herself to be on the receiving end of Ei's attack.

If Dainsleif supported (Y/n) in the first place, if he had taken the time to understand the turmoil she was dealing with, then she wouldn't have been on the brink of a second 'death'. She wouldn't have gone through this alone. His fists clenched as he lowered his gaze onto the floor, ashamed.
