"Shit, shit...!" (Y/n) cursed when his wound continued to bleed. "Careful Dain..." She watched as he placed Childe on her bed. "Apply pressure! I need to figure out what the hell this poison is!" She quickly turned on her heel and dropped the dagger that was lodged in Childe's stomach moments ago on her desk. She quickly searched through her room for herbs, occasionally tripping over items or reconstruction tools. Her room still wasn't done being fixed up but it had all her crap. Crap that she had yet to find to help the damn bleeding demon on her bed!

The only good thing in this situation was that she recognized the smell of the poison on the dagger—which was nearly hidden by the metallic smell of blood.

Her hands trembled slightly as she tore through her room like a mini tornado, picking up herbs, glasses, and various things she needed. This was a gamble, she read as much as she could about the biodiversity in Hell and so she could only make educated guesses on which kind of plants could replace the ones she knew in the antidote. "Smack him around to keep him from being too comfortable over there!" She snapped as she dropped the items on the table and began to prepare it.

Dainsleif smacked Childe on the cheek, causing the area between the ginger's brows to scrunch together. "He's still responsive."

"Good, keep it that way."

Silence would've enveloped them if it were for the clanking of glasses, rustling and crushing of leaves.

(E/c) eyes zeroed in on the mortar before them, this wasn't the first time (Y/n) had to whip up an antidote on the fly. She's done it a few times when some villagers got bitten by snakes, other poisonous creatures or poisonous plants in the woods.

But for some reason, this time was different. She was unusually stressed. Perhaps it was because she was working with different species of plants. Yes... that was definitely one of the main reasons.

And perhaps the other...

While crushing the leaves she glanced over her shoulder to check on Childe.

The usual healthy color of his fair skin was nearly a ghostly color. Beads of sweat ran down his temples and his breathing was shallow. It was... scary—terrifying to see him like that.

It would've been scary to see any of them like that—vulnerable.

Even though they were all dead, their bodies still housed their souls. There was no telling what would happen if their bodies suddenly became unable to do its job.

Would their soul end up wandering around mindlessly? Would it dissipate once it loses its husk?

Who knows. Only those who were stupid enough had the thought to actually try.

She tore her eyes away and continued to focus on her work. A nearly inaudible whimper came from the injured demon.

"You better fight it. I'm almost done here. Do you hear me? I'll be very angry if you lose to a damn poison!" (Y/n) yelled at him, as if he could hear her scolding him, as if he'd wake up to retort with one of his stupid remarks.

Dainsleif pulled out some more gauze from her pack and pressed it against Childe's wound. The bleeding nearly stopped. While his master worked on the antidote, he closed his eyes and focused on sensing if anyone else was in the vicinity just in case of an ambush. He sensed some familiar souls—but there were a few he did not. He opened his eyes and glanced at the door.

Alhaitham would've definitely noticed their presence, his room was right across, but the Khaenriahn didn't sense him bother to move towards their direction. Sloth had a visitor, he was aware, but was stalling.
