The sound of a pair of footsteps entering the room caused (Y/n) to look towards its direction to see Dainsleif walk out the bathroom, his blonde hair was damp from his shower. He donned a comfortable black long sleeved button-up shirt under a dark blue vest that fit his toned chest perfectly, a pair of black pants, and boots. His teal eyes glanced at her questionably when he sensed that someone else was in the room moments before he entered.

"Kaeya." (Y/n) answered without him needing to verbally voice his curiosity. "I told him about our trip today. He just left to go get ready."

"I see..." His deep voice was indifferent as he continued to dry his hair with his towel.

"Have you packed yet?" His master glanced at him once she finished making sure she had everything packed.

"There's not much for me to bring," he tussled his hair with his towel, "but I'll carry your bag for you."

"Well aren't you so reliable. You'd do it even if I didn't ask." She chuckled and stood up. She watched him dry his hair, when he pulled his towel off his head it caused his hair to stick out haphazardly in different directions. She smiled and gestured him to come over to her.

He obeyed and walked over until he was in front of her. (Y/n) made him sit down on their bed and she grabbed a brush. "Some things never change." She smiled, the action of her brushing his blonde locks were reminiscent to the past when she used to brush Leaf's fur. She gently ran her fingers through his soft hair. "You're still my cat~" She cooed.

Dainsleif softly sighed as she continued to brush his hair. He was unsure how to react to her when she teased him in such a way. He wondered if what he felt towards her jokes were what one would call being 'flustered'. His hands restlessly fiddled with his towel as he watched her every move with sharp eyes through the mirror, which was on the opposite side of the wall in front of their bed.

(Y/n)'s lips curled up when she felt his eyes on her. She glanced at the mirror to catch his gaze and he broke it by averting his eyes. She kept a laugh from escaping her. Some moments he was direct, and others times he was bashful. It was endearing to watch Dainsleif start to become expressive or speak his mind.

"I see we're all ready for a lovely trip towards our impending doom." The navy haired demon smiled when he approached Zhongli and Dainsleif who stood before the front doors to the mansion with (Y/n).

"What are you on about?" The witch crossed her arms, "Regardless, it's about time you showed up. It felt like you were taking your sweet time getting ready."

"If you didn't drop this on me last minute then I wouldn't have made you wait, princess." Kaeya quipped as he brushed a lock of navy hair behind his ear. His eye glanced at Zhongli, "Seeing that the head is here... I suppose this trip means business?"

(Y/n) nods, "We're going to attempt reopening the gate by seeking out Albedo and convincing him to open it."

Kaeya looked at her with incredulity, "You're going to attempt speaking to Albedo—who's in the overworld—even though the gate to the Teyvat is closed, just so you can convince him to open the gate?" He slowly spoke as if trying to find the logic in her plan.

"There are other ways to get to Teyvat..." She watched him amused as an expression of confusion formed on his face.

"Even if we can find a way, our souls can't go to Teyvat without a host body."

"We don't need to go to Teyvat. We just need to communicate with someone who's in Teyvat."

"Gadgets like telephones won't work. Besides, it would be odd if those in the overworld could communicate with the dead."
