The damn demon was a cheater.

(Y/n) was sure that Itto would be as clueless as she was when it came to making drinks, but Ayato had pointed the demon of envy towards working at the bar and even went as far as teaching him how to make some of the drinks that was on the menu beforehand.

The witch stared at Itto as he made his way around the bar as he made the drinks.

Diluc had demonstrated to them how to make each drink he wanted them to create. Annoyingly, throughout the whole show, Itto kept running his mouth about how Ayato had shown him how to make each one.

The red haired bartender made no effort to tell him to shut up but kept his focus on making each drink—twice—for each of them to taste. He made five drinks, one for each category of drinks that they served: coffee, tea, juice, blend, and alcohol.

Once he finished he took a seat next to (Y/n) and instructed Itto to make his first; Envy was not to speak throughout his time making the drinks or he would be disqualified.

The witch didn't know if Diluc had enough of the white haired demons bragging or if it was so that the only information of how to make the drinks were from his demonstration, not from fellow interviewees.

Itto had put his long white hair up into a high ponytail as he worked. This time he wore an ugly orange dress shirt with black slacks and dress shoes. (Y/n) assumed it was Ayato's doing, if not then the demon before her would've worn sweats to the interview.

Envy's tongue was stuck out slightly as he concentrated making the drinks. They were told to pace their drinks, working on two at a time. Efficiency was key after all. Though it became obvious that multitasking wasn't Itto's strong suit.

Diluc's red eyes observed his every move, his face void of any expression that could give away his thoughts as he critically examined him. For some reason this caused (Y/n) to become a bit nervous. She tapped her fingers on her knee as she watched Itto, and glanced at Diluc from her peripheral.

"Whoops—!" Itto nervously chuckled when he accidentally tipped over a glass, causing the contents inside to spill out.

Diluc looked at the mess, "That's fine. It happens sometimes. Just hurry up and remake it."

Itto nodded and immediately went back to remaking the drink, completely ignoring the mess of the previous drink. The way it sat there like a sticky puddle made (Y/n) wince. She glanced at Diluc to see that the stoic expression never budged.

Itto was a fast worker, quickly making each drink once he got in the habit of pacing himself. Once he was finished he cleaned up the mess from the drink he spilled and lined up each drink in front of Diluc.

The ruby eyes of the bartender glanced over them in thought. He picked up each one and glanced over them, as if examining the consistency through the swirling of the liquid in each glass before taking a sip of each, letting it wash down his throat and making sure the taste was gone before moving onto the next drink. His tongue clicking against the roof of his mouth after every other drink, as if trying to grind the flavor from his tongue so the next drink wouldn't be tainted from the previous one.

After he finished tasting all of them he turned his gaze to the witch at his side, "Your turn."

(Y/n) nodded and got up from her seat and headed around the bar while Itto left it. She started by lining up the appropriate glass for each drink on the side and grabbed the first one to begin. The first category of drink was coffee, and the drink she was assigned to make was Moonlit Alley. The mug in her hand felt comfortably heavy and she placed it down on the counter and let the coffee brew. As it brewed she dropped an appropriate amount of cocoa paste into the mug, letting it drop onto the bottom of the cup as her other hand began working on steaming the milk for the drink. By the time the coffee was done brewing the steamed milk was poured into the cup, mixing into the cocoa paste and she topped it off with the coffee. She placed the coffee where she'd line up the drinks and grabbed the two glasses for the tea drink and juice-based one.
