Day 4
The day started off perfectly for Matt.

He woke up to your arm draped over him and your cheek on his chest. He spent ten minutes playing with your hair and rubbing your head, listening to the hums you made in your sleep.

For breakfast, you and Matt joined everyone in the patio. You ate bagels and drank coffee. The sun was hot and thick in the sky.

Then you spent the rest of the day at the beach.

By the time you got ready for bed, you made your way down to the patio to call your Mom. So Matt waited, he went down to the kitchen to make tea.

He sat the mugs down on the bedside tables and passed the time making the bed and tidying the room so you would come back and it would be comfortable.

But twenty minutes passed and you weren't back so Matt decided to head down to play cards with some of his colleagues.

He didn't get far because he felt an unfamiliar hand grab his wrist as he walked down the hallway towards th stairs.

"Annie?" He asked, looking at her with concern and worry when she didn't say anything. "Are you okay?"

Annie moved closer to him, closing the spaces between their bodies.

"Nothings wrong, it's just-" she whispered, close to his lips, holding his wrist. "Why don't you forget about this fake girlfriend for tonight and be with who you really want?"

What?

Matt pushed her away slowly, in shock. He must have heard her wrong, right? It was impossible.

"How'd you know?" He asked, his eyes full of worry and disbelief.

There was no way.

He pulled it off well. He didn't make a mistake. You and him were hardly ever around him and even when you were, you ended up being more focused on each other. What did he do wrong?

"I didn't" Annie smirked, resting her hands on his chest. "But I do now"

She was all over him, just like he wanted before. It felt wrong and weird and nothing like home. He didn't give in and he didn't move away from it either.

He pushed Annie's hands away.

"Annie, we have to talk"

"No, it's okay. I already know what you're going to say" she said, smiling and holding his hand. "I love you too"

"Matt?" Your voice trembled before Matt had the chance to process what Annie just said, but when he realised what you just walked in on.

He knew this was over.

He pulled his hand away from Annie's and turned to look at you, hoping to reassure you that nothing is happening and nothing has happened or ever will.

Your eyes were full of tears, your face was full of hurt, betrayal and shock. You looked at him for answers, but you didn't need to be told. You just didn't want to believe it.

"No, Y/N, it's not what you think. I was just about to-"

"She doesn't know?" Annie cut him off, with shock in her voice.

The question echoed in your head, making you question every move you made since you've been here. You had been too distracted by Matt to notice what was going on in front of you.

Matt had been with you all this time. Every morning, every night. All the kissing, talking, laughing, it was good. It happened every time, everywhere, even with Annie there and-
