Who Got You Smiling Like That

So much built up to that day- to the moment of Matt and the boys receiving hugs, kisses and good lucks backstage, before going on stage.

You had been waiting for this, since you were with Matt when they had to postpone a previous tour because of the pandemic and you were there to cheer him up, when he wanted to travel.

You both knew it was out of your hands, and you believed your safety and others was more important, but that didn't mean Matt had to hide his disappointment.

To say Matt was excited would be an understatement. To say you were excited to see him in his element, doing his thing would be an even bigger understatement.

Then the 26th of September came and you were no longer sat at home, but you were in Seattle, standing backstage, helping Matt get ready for the show.

"I can't believe it's finally happening" Matt said, trying to hide his huge smile, watching as your combed your fingers through his hair.

"Yeah? Seemed impossible a year ago, right?"

Matt hummed and stayed quiet for a minute, only to talk again in a softer voice. "Thank you for reminding me to believe this moment would come. I mean- you were right. Here we are"

You cupped his face and nodded. "Here we are"

The night was phenomenal, and you didn't expect anything less from them.

It was so great, you felt like you couldn't move the next day.

Laying in bed with Matt asleep beside you, you woke up before him. You reached for your phone and did your daily catch up of social media, before you typically drowned in TikTok.

From recipes, to story times, to funny videos, you liked the ones you found interesting as you scrolled.

You then came face to face with a pretty blonde girl smiling, a sound starting;

"Yo, bro, who got you smiling like that? Like-"

A song then began playing before the screen showed a video of Matt jumping around on the stage last night.

The video of Matt was then cut to a zoomed in shot of you, looking at Matt, with the biggest smile on your face. The shot was then cut to you standing right in front of the divider between the pit area and the fans, holding a phone and recording you and some fans.

You liked the video with a smile on your face, before looking at the caption of the video;

'Last night was the best night of my life! Y/N is the best person!!"

Then, you checked the comments.

'Please, she's so cute!'

'The fact Y/N treats us like we're all friends is why the fandom actually loves her'

'Have you seen the way they look at each other?'

'I WOULD DIE!'
