Suggestive Dialogue!

Matt's back hurt. It really hurt.

He knew it, the minute he got out of bed, and tried to get up, landing back against the mattress. He groaned, as he back throbbed. His back felt like a red hot needle was being pinched between his spine. It was tight, wanting to stay in one place, and if he moved, it flared.

He eventually got up, keeping his hands on his lower back and rubbing it as hard as he could. Having three young kids didn't mix well with a bad back that acted up. He hated when it happened as soon as he woke up, resulting in a miserable day. He hated those days. The kids wanted him. They wanted to be held, rested on his hip.

He had to be okay today. Today was special.

You were in the bathroom, putting on lotion and just dressed, clean from a shower when he walked in.

"Hi. Good morning" you looked up from your tub of lotion and frowned, looking over your shoulder. "Matt? Are you okay?"

You watched him grip the counter for support as he bent over, squeezing his eyes closed. He nodded, slowly opening his eyes as the position made his back relax.

"Morning. Yeah, my back is bothering me a bit"

"How much is a bit?" You asked, placing your hands on his back, rubbing slow circles with little pressure. You could feel how tight his muscles were.

This wasn't new. He'd been getting back pain for a while now. It had been more annoying than anything else, when the pain would start after he pushed himself too hard, but sometimes it came out of nowhere. Matt hated going to the osteopath and taking pain killers when he needed them.

Matt swallowed. "It's not so bad"

"Don't be stubborn" you warned, kneading his skin.

"I'm not stubborn"

You hummed, not convinced.

"We should have taken it easier last night" he mumbled, sighing at the feeling of your warm hand on his back. The kids went to bed early, so you took advantage of your time alone.

"You're the one who suggested the bath" you smirked, raising your eyebrow

Matt sighed. "We should've learned from before"

You hummed and kissed his neck. "It's a perfectly healthy pastime"

Matt smirked. "And a productive one"

You nuzzled in closer and kissed his ear. "I'm sorry your back is sore, babe" you kissed his bare shoulder, keeping your hands on his back, hoping it would help.

Matt shrugged. "It'll be okay"

"If you don't feel like taking Cody to the zoo..."

Matt shook his head. He'd been looking forward to this day as much as your son had. Cody had been going on and on about how excited he was to spend the day with Matt. With it being summer, your middle son, Grayson, signed up for soccer camp and your oldest daughter, Madison, was doing a baking workshop. Leaving Cody at home without his brother and sister for company made him upset. So Matt decided it was the perfect opportunity to get some bonding time with him.

"No. I promised him. I want to. I'm just as excited as he is"

"But if you don't feel up to it, it's okay. I don't want you to make it worse"

Matt bit his lip and looked at the tub of pain killers. He didn't like taking them until he had to. They made him sick and he always felt tired after he took them. But he'd do anything to feel better today.
