The Sea titan (Attack on Titan）

(This is a short chapter just serving as a transition point)

Home was a pen, humanity cattle. That was one of the things Eren said to him during their time spent together. He, Armin, Mikasa and Eren has been living together. Ever since the futile attempt to retake wall Maria.

Speaking of which, the attempt to reclaim wall Maria was a complete disaster. Hundreds upon thousands of people died in vain. He saw the faces of the people as they slowly filtered out of the wall. Their faces indicate that most of them know what's coming. They are all like lambs being let out into the slaughter. A twisted fact is that this was just like what Eren said.

Humanity really is cattle. Out of all the 250 000 people sent out less than 100 made it back. The rest were eaten by the titans. Just like small animals domesticated until the time is right, then sent out to be eaten.

They needed to stick together with no adults to help them. Armin's grandpa was sent out to reclaim wall Maria and never returned. Eren's mom, Mikasa's parents and Armin's parents are all but dead, and of course his parents won't be showing up at all.

It was a long hard 2 years. We were forced to work on the fields with only a small amount of rations in return. Fortunately the food shortages have mostly faded out. It took him a few days to realise but he soon found out what the real reason for the reclamation mission was.

The answer disgusted him. Those people were sent out to be killed. The population was culled by 20% which then relieved the food shortage in wall rose. Although he won't lie that if he was in charge he would have done the same, it was still an extremely inhumane option nonetheless.

All of those people had to die so that everyone else wouldn't starve. What a horrific way to solve a food crisis.

The 4 of us worked together for 2 whole years, but to be honest it felt like 5. Our friendship grew even more than before, but that's not the only thing that grew. It seems in the span of 2 years Eren and Mikasa grew a lot older. I did too, now looking like the version of myself I knew but way thinner. Even if the rest of us grew up, Armin seemed to remain at pretty much the same height. He seemed to have grown only 3 or 4 cm.

I mostly follow them around and did a lot of the carrying work. It seems that Mikasa is the strongest in our little group. I follow in second and Eren in third. Armin is of course the weakest one but he's also the smartest out of all of us. Fortunately for my own self value I am also second in intelligence.

It seemed that in this group I am second in almost every field. True to his original connotations of being a jack of all trades.

He also made some pop culture reference while he was with Eren Mikasa and Armin. He remembered many stories and films form my childhood before ending up here. He sang them sons I remembered. He told stories about movies he watched and the books he had read. 

While Mikasa doesn't react much, Armin and Eren really loved it. Especially Eren, his smile and bright green eyes makes his day. Now that Eren's grown up and their around the same age. He realized that he is taller than Eren still. What he also realized is that Eren is getting really attractive , since his hair is getting longer and he was looking significantly more mature. At least his personality hasn't changed. He loved that about Eren.

One day he brought them all to a library, taking upon himself to read as much as possible. To find out about this world and how it works. Knowledge is power after all, he'll need it to protect his friends. 

It didn't take long for him to decipher that all of their history books are bullshit. At least he knew what era they were in, as well as he unique technology they possess.

The rest of his days are spent working hard, together him and Mikasa carry most of their efforts, while Eren has determination, the boy still wasn't very strong, and Armin was just plain up weak. During the nights he acted as their guardian, kind of like a big brother, always ensuring that they were safe, often signing them to sleep, soothing their trauma filled minds.

When they all turned 12 they decided to join the military training corps. He had his personal reasons, he wanted to investigate the true secrets of this world, and find out why he's here, but he had also formed a personal connection with the three people who had been with him for two year. He wanted to see them be safe.

The people here are all traumatised. He feels bad for them although he couldn't relate too much. At the age of 12 they collectively joined the military. Kids from all over the walls have also joined
