You transferred schools almost halfway through the school year. You were walking through the now empty halls of the school going to your class.

It's your first day in the school so you got a tour around the main areas of the school so now you were a little late, the teacher was expecting you to be late though as he knew you'd be getting a tour.

It was English first period. You were now 15 minutes late as you reached the classroom.

You opened the door and everyone's eyes were on you, as well as the teacher, who greeted you.

Jenna's Pov:

Everyone looked at the door as it opened, there was a girl in the doorway, I've never seen her before. She must be new. But who transfers in the middle of the year like that? It's so weird.

She looks kinda mean, I hope she's not. We already have enough assholes in this school.

"Good morning, Y/n," the teacher says, "would you like to introduce yourself?" he adds.

"No," she replies bluntly as she looks around for a seat. The teacher looks baffled for a little as it wasn't really a question, even if it sounded like it.

There were four empty seats in the classroom, but of course, she had to choose the one beside me. I liked sitting alone, especially since this new girl seems so full of herself and like a total bitch.

Why are all the attractive people always assholes? I think to myself. I bet she'll try to copy my work too, or just distract me.

Class finally ended and the new girl did not say a word in the entire class, she didn't even look my way.

The only thing i know is that her name is Y/n since that's what the teacher called her when she came in.

Y/n's pov:

Finally first period finished. Everyone kept staring at me, especially the girl beside me, she was definitely judging me which is kinda weird since she doesn't know me.

I think my judgment is a bit off today, i sat beside her because she seemed like she would be a nice smart girl.

I didn't want to deal with assholes or helping people with the class.

---

The first day was pretty uneventful other than all the stares I got since no one knows me. Luckily i didn't really have to talk to anyone today.

Unfortunately I have four out of seven classes with that judgy girl from English class. Unfortunately there is another class i have to sit beside her as it was the only seat left.

The next day
Y/n's pov:

The next day came and the first two classes went smoothly. Now i had English, firstly boring as hell, secondly rude stares i have to deal with from the judgy girl.

I entered the classroom and gave the teacher a quick nod as a hello and sat down. As soon as I sat in my seat I heard the girl beside me groan in annoyance.

Clearly she didn't like me very much. I turn to the guy sitting diagonally behind us. "Hey dude" I say. "Umm, yeah?" He says as he looks up a little confused. Nice, he seems chill.

"Do you mind if I sit beside you? It seems that this girl has a problem with me for some reason" I ask him.

"Yeah sure no problem." He answers. "Thanks" I say as I get up to move next to him. He was the first person I properly talked to in this school. I wasn't very social most of the time as I had quite bad social anxiety.

Jenna now felt kind of bad that you moved, now that she saw the interaction between you two she realized that maybe she judged too soon.

"Hey, how come you don't really talk to anyone? If you don't mind me asking " the dude asks out of nowhere.

"Oh yeah it's no problem. You seem nice, it's mostly because I just like to be alone a lot of the time, I have bad social anxiety sometimes, so i try to avoid talking altogether." You reply truthfully.

"Ahh, okay. If I ever get too much just tell me to shut up okay?" He says with a small chuckle. "I will" I say seriously before flashing a small smile causing him to laugh slightly.

Jenna was totally listening in on your conversation, and now she feels like a total asshole. She feels bad for making you feel like you had to move.

The bell finally rang and it was lunch time. "Do you want to have lunch together?" The guy asks, "My name is Alex by the way"

"Y/n" I reply "and yeah sure." We go to the cafeteria and get our food. We find a quieter space to sit so it wouldn't be so uncomfortable for me.

We eat our lunch in silence before I speak up, "So what's the deal with that girl from English anyway?" I ask.

"Oh Jenna, yeah I don't really know she's not usually like this. I know she likes sitting by herself, but that was a total asshole move." Alex says.

"That's hard to believe. She was giving me dirty, judgy looks all class yesterday," I reply.

"I think sometimes she judges people too quickly. Like she probably thought you were rude for not introducing yourself, so she treated you like you were without actually knowing you." Alex says.

"I guess that would make sense, but it still doesn't make it ok." I answered. "Agreed," Alex humms.

I take notice of the busy cafeteria, it's giving me anxiety seeing several people looking in my direction.

My eyes meet Jenna's momentarily before I look away, her gaze now softer than the times when I sat beside her.

"She's staring again," I state as I begin to pack up my stuff and get up. "I'm going outside," I add.

"Wait I'll come with" Alex offers. "No it's okay, enjoy your lunch. I'll see you later." I tell him before leaving the cafeteria, not wanting to stay there a second longer.

3rd person pov:

Alex finishes eating and packs up everything, throwing out his trash. He stops by a table to greet some of his friends as he walks by them.

He continues walking a few minutes later. "What is your problem?" Alex asks as he leans on the table slightly.

"What?" Jenna asks as she looks up from the book she was reading. "You've been acting like a total ass towards Y/n and the staring, like come on," Alex rambles.

"I-" Jenna starts. "To be completely honest, I don't really care what you have to say. Just stop staring at her. You're going to make her uncomfortable." Alex cuts her off.

Jenna's eyes shift towards the table as she looks down, breaking eye contact with Alex. He walks away and Jenna goes back to reading or tries to before closing the book unable to focus now.

She leaves too, hoping to find you so she could apologize.
