You walk through the house slowly, squeezing between the crowds of people. You were at a house party and you didn't really know anyone here other than the girl throwing the party as she lived on your street.

You were new in town, so you came, figuring it was a good opportunity to meet some people. You spent the last week moving into this town with your parents and thought this would be a good way to destress and relax.

You grabbed a beer as you passed by the kitchen and continued walking before going upstairs. You spotted the balcony doors and decided to step out for a breather of fresh air.

You closed the door behind you and leaned on the railing as you sipped your beer. You liked the outdoors, especially at night when you could look at the stars.

It wasn't too cold outside, a comfortable breeze blowing through your hair. You got lost in thought for a second and almost missed the person who joined you on the balcony.

You looked back at the person. It was a girl around your age. You didn't say anything, though, as you looked forward again over the garden, taking another sip.

"Mind if I stay out here with you for a few, it's really loud in there," the girl asks as she walks up to the railing, resting her arm on it.

"Yeah no problem," you smile, looking at her as you speak. "What school are you from, if you don't mind me asking? I've never seen you before," the girl asks as she looks over, not recognizing you.

"I actually just moved here. I'm new in town. I'm starting at Miller High School on Monday," you tell her.

"Oh no way! I go there." she says excitedly, which makes you smile. "Names AJ, by the way," she adds.

"Y/n," you respond before taking a sip of your beer. "So... Beer is your drink of choice?" AJ asks curiously.

"No. Not necessarily." You say as you look at the bottle. "I don't really like it actually. It was just the most convenient. I'm not much of a drinker in general. I just needed something to distract myself." You tell her.

"Ahh, of course I get it. I don't really drink either," AJ says before looking out at the stars and then down to the garden.

"Some view up here, huh?" AJ questions looking over the beautiful garden and the night sky illuminating the ground ever so slightly.

"Yeah, but it's not that view that's catching my attention tonight," you smirk as you turn your head to face the girl.

AJ looks back at you, "is that so?" She asks with a raised eyebrow. "Mhmm," you humm, not taking your eyes off her. You really were captivated by the girl in front of you.

"So you're going for the whole leather jacket bad girl persona?" AJ chuckles. "No, but I can be a bad girl if you want me to," you whisper with a smirk as you step closer to her, putting your beer bottle on the small table.

A light blush covers AJs cheeks at your comment mixed with your closeness to her. You put your finger under her chin and tilt her head up slightly to meet your eyes, seeing her tense slightly.

"I'm just messing with you," you smile after a few seconds as you drop your hand. "See you around AJ," you say as you leave her on the balcony alone.

AJ is slightly shocked and embarrassed by the conversation. She didn't expect to be caught so off guard. And she definitely didn't expect the butterflies that arose in her stomach.

She wasn't even sure if this was real. She had a crush on Paige for like forever and now, all of a sudden, this random girl pops into town and completely blows her away. Her heart flutters just at the thought of the interaction and the realization that she will probably see her around school.

You go back downstairs to join the party, the music was blasting and everyone seemed pretty wasted. You chatted to a few people who approached you and you could tell how drunk they were due to their inability to properly form coherent sentences.

You went to the kitchen and grabbed a soda from the fridge instead of the beer you were drinking earlier.

"Hey Stacey," you say as you see her. "The party seems to be going well," you chuckle. "Oh heyyy," Stacey says a little tipsy, but compared to others, she was still very much aware of herself.

"I hope you're enjoying the party," Stacey says as she shimmies to the music slightly. "Of course, it's great. Good job," you tell her over the music with a little chuckle. She definitely knew how to throw a party considering her house was absolutely crowded with guests.

You were kind of curious if her parents allowed her to do this, but you didn't ask as she got pulled away by her boyfriend. You could only imagine the reactions her parents would have if they saw the state their house is in.

You looked around the room as you wanted to dance, looking for one person in particular. It was uncharacteristic for you to dance, but for some reason, you just wanted to.

As you looked around, a girl approached you. "Hey, I'm Gaby," she says. "Do you want to dance?" She asks over the loud music.

"Uhh, yeah. But I'm looking for someone," you tell her. Gaby, in her drunken state, wasn't very satisfied with that answer. "Come on, c-clearly they are not here, l-let's dance," she slurs loudly.

You smile at her politely, hoping that she'll drop it. You only wanted to dance with AJ, who appears around the corner. She noticed you before you noticed her and a frown replaced her smile as she watched you and her sister, what she could only assume was flirt.

She was about to turn around to leave before she heard you call her name. "Ohh there you are, AJ." You say as you spot her. "Wanna dance?" You ask her and she looks at you suspiciously before agreeing with a small smile.

Gaby frowns slightly but doesn't say anything as it was her sister after all that you wanted to dance with and she wasn't going to get in the way of that.

You take AJ by the hand and pull her to a more open space where you'd have enough room to move around and dance.

You spend the next few songs dancing and having fun until someone bumps into AJ from behind, pushing her forward.

Her body collides with yours, but you manage to stop her from making you both fall. You were left extremely close, though, your bodies touching and your arm wrapped around her waist to stabilize her.

You both freeze in the moment as your eyes meet, your faces so close that you let your inner thoughts win and slowly lean into her, your nose brushing hers momentarily before you fully close the gap, connecting your lips in a sweet kiss.
