elaine walked into the classroom with a grin on her lips, being very excited to see the debate team.

it's no secret that elaine levine has the highest score in the whole school, she was the smartest of them all and everybody knew that.

sadly she was only the favorite of the teacher's, not the students.

but simply said, without elaine, the school wouldn't have won every competition for the past three years.

"hey, ellie!" cara, one of her school friends, waved at elaine as she walked into the room.

elaine pretty much didn't have many friends, which was probably because of the rumor because before that came, she was almost friends with everybody in school. but some people seemed to not believe the rumor, because all the people in the debate club, loved her.

"hey!" elaine says with a smile, sitting down besides cara and her two friends while everyone seemed to be waiting for mr. carlson.

and matt seemed to be missing too, because elaine didn't spot his annoying face anywhere.

"hello kids!" mr. carlson explains with loads of energy as he walked into the classroom with his brown bag held tightly between his hip and arm.

a chorus of greetings came right back at the club teacher while he put his belongings down and started a basic small talk with his students.

and that's exactly what elaine loved about the debate club. everyone got along with everyone and here was no room for judgment or bullying. everyone here gets treated like they want themselves to be treated.

they all treated her like the rumor never existed.

"alright! you all already know what time of the year it is." mr. carlson announces with a wide smile, looking at the exciting faces of his students before he dramatically started drum rolling his fingers onto the wooden table, "competition time!"

the sudden loud slam of the classroom door hitting the wall made everyone jump in surprise, but they all calmed down when they saw matt entering the room with an apologetic face.

"matt, you're late, buddy." mr. carlson says with raised eyebrows which made matt give him a tight lipped smile as he sneaked through the room to quickly sit down by two of his friends.

"sorry, mr. carlson."

"it's alright." mr. carlson responds back, sending the brunette boy a quick thumps up before he claps his hands together and turns his attention back to the class.

elaine instead pulled her phone out, going onto her messages before clicking on matt's contact.
