. CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
🖤🖤🖤

the actual plan was that matt would knock on her door and then ask if everything's okay and if she needed company.

but when matt reached her hotel room door, he tripped over his shoelace that was in the way and straight on fell into her door. the slam of it was so loud, he was afraid that the whole floor was now awake.

"fucking—fuck!" matt cursed under his breath as he held his head in pain while he grabbed after the open shoelace to hold it away from tangling itself around his shoe again. at the sudden pull on his shoelace, he started hopping backwards, knowing that he would be caught by the door but unfortunately in that very moment the door opened up and he fell right through the doorway, colliding harshly with the floor.

elaine let out a surprised shriek when matt suddenly flew past her eyes and onto the ground next to her feet.

"matt, what the fuck!" elaine shouted, realizing midways that it was already after midnight and people where sleeping.

she grabbed onto the collar of his shirt before dragging him completely inside over the floor which got protests out of the boy, but she ignored him while shutting the door.

"that hurts you know!" matt complained while he got off of the floor and held his back, where he could feel the burning marks coming in from being dragged across the hard floor.

"quit crying." elaine only replies with rolling her eyes at the way he was currently pouting like a toddler, who didn't get what it wanted.

matt only huffed while he walked after elaine, who sat down on the small table which was filled with a pizza box.

"did you order a fucking pizza?" matt says as he looks at the blonde girl who continued to eat her pizza.

"obviously?" elaine responded back with a sassy attitude as she took a bite from it, which made matt roll his eyes at her. but nonetheless, he sat down on the other seat and leaned with his elbows onto it.

"why are you here anyways?" she asks after swallowing her bite before she shoved the box over to matt, who gladly took a piece after he heard his stomach grumble.

"uh..." matt stutters out with wide eyes like he just got caught doing something bad. he didn't even know why he was there, he just wanted to be with her but he never would admit that out loud.

"i don't know."

elaine raised her eyebrows at him while she gave him a suspicious nod before it went quiet between the two. matt wanted to desperately say something but nothing came into his mind.

"by the way, why where you talking to that girl earlier?" elaine suddenly asks, refusing to look at him. now, it was matt's turn to raise his eyebrows at the sudden interest she had about him talking to a girl.

"why does it matter to you?" matt decides to ask as he finished his piece of pizza with a slight grin that tries to fights it's way onto his face.

"because you have a girlfriend?" elaine replies back with raised eyebrows of her own as she gave him a sort of 'duh' tone at the dumb question he just delivered.

oh.

matt's face fell as he cleared his throat awkwardly when she didn't stopped looking at him.

"stacy and me broke up."

oh.

elaine's face now fell as she put her slice of of pizza slowly down with a frown, "oh."
