. CHAPTER THIRTY THREE

!emotional warning ( i'm sorry 😬 )!monday.
elaine could throw up at even the thought of this week day. she absolutely hated monday and for a good reason because nobody liked monday's. they simply sucked. but for elaine, this monday sucked especially hard because it was her first day back to school after her breakup with steve and her fight with stacey.
and she was not ready to see either of them.
it was that bad that the girl got basically needed to be dragged by vera and cinzia for the whole day, who both tried their best to somehow give her any sort of confidence to face this day. and she appreciated them a lot but none of it worked, at all.
"it's gonna be fine. you're overthinking."
"that's easy for you to say."
cinzia sighed deeply as her eyes glided across elaine's awful state. she felt for her best friend, knowing that breakups weren't easy at all and then getting attacked by a crazy bitch on the same day? the universe was definitely against her.
"it's gonna be okay." cinzia decided to speak as the two of them left the empty classroom after the other students already rushed outside to attend lunch, "i promise you that."
elaine could only fight a weak smile onto her face, thankful for her best friend's attempt to cheer her somehow up. she was about to say something but something specific from the corner of her eye caught her attention. she felt her breath hitch. it couldn't be.
her feet dragged her forward without even thinking until she almost fell into the rows of lockers. she scanned the rows along, noticing that the papers where hanging across every single locker. they looked at her, the ink that stained those clean papers basically mocked her until she wanted to dig her own grave and bury herself in it.
her face was on that paper.
and not only that, her face was completely drawn over, ugly insults written with red ink messily across from it. but the word that stood out most was slut. the word that has haunted her since freshmen year, the word that went around the hallways whenever she stepped foot into the school, the word that made her life a living hell.
a word that wasn't even true.
elaine let her finger drop from clutching onto the edge of the paper while she slowly turned her head around to look through the hallways, who where now filled with students. she watched as some people stopped walking, looking around the lockers while some went up to take a closer look at those papers. she didn't even need to return her gaze to all these people to know that they where now looking at her.
a hand grabbing onto her forearm brought her out of her trance, dragging her from all those eyes staring into her soul. she heard some laughter, she saw some unfriendly looks and even some pitiful looks greeting her as well. but she wished nobody would look at her at all.
ciniza was the one who grabbed her, pulling her away from all these people as she pushed them out of their way through the hallways.
these papers where everywhere and they didn't seem to have an end.
it didn't stop.
