to say elaine was surprised was an understatement.

the original plan was that elaine and matt meet up at the bus station on monday, which would drive them to the airport where they would fly to los angeles, would check into their hotel, have a free day to spend ( mostly to learn some more for the competition ) and eventually on wednesday go to the competition.

now, she was currently seated inside the bus with the whole debate team.

mr. carlson thought it was a good idea to surprise the two with the whole team coming along for the support. which elaine thought was really sweet.

but it was unexpected.

and elaine didn't really like surprises.

the other reason was that elaine and matt wouldn't be alone on their trip anymore. which saddened the two a tiny bit but neither of them would ever admit that in any way.

"are you excited for the competition?" cara asks as she send a smile towards the blonde girl. they where currently sitting next to each other on the bus while it drove along the roads.

elaine looked over at her with a grin, "i am. i cannot wait to beat everyone's asses."

cara laughed at that before she reached her hand out towards elaine with a package of gummy bears inside of it.

"want one?"

elaine grabbed some out of the package with a smile, "thanks."

"so...you think, you and matt will get along?" cara asks with raised eyebrows as she glanced at elaine.

elaine couldn't help but grin at her words. her blue eyes wandered through the driving bus as she searched for a certain pair. her eyes seemed to practically glimmer when she found those beautiful ocean blue eye, a few seats in front of her. his eyes also found hers at the exact same time as she found his.

a even wider grin came over her face when she saw the smile that curled up on matt's lips at the sight of her.

"yeah, me and matt will get along just fine."
