. CHAPTER TWELVE
🖤🖤🖤"i'm freaking out right now."
"yeah, no shit."
elaine and matt looked like the plane was gonna crash any minute at how absolutely stunned they sat there, wide eyes while gripping anything near them ab bit too harsh.
the blonde girl grabbed onto her phone to go to messages as she clicked onto the chat with cara, about to respond to her that they got the wrong flight but before she could click with her finger onto the send button, her phone suddenly turned off.
"what the—" elaine mumbles as she clicks onto her phone, only for it to show her that her battery had ran out.
of course.
a frustrated groan leaves her lips while she angrily shoved her phone into her back pocket before reaching her hand out to matt.
he looked down at the hand palm reached out to him and for a second, he thought she wanted to hold hands until she started speaking.
"give me your phone."
matt didn't even get a chance to speak when elaine cut him right off, "don't ask."
matt gave her a side glance before he took his phone out and carefully laid it down into elaine's hand palm, who immediately snatched it towards herself.
his eyes followed as her fingers started typing aggressively across his screen before she cursed loudly and pushed the phone down onto her lap.
"what?"
"you have no one's number from the debate club. why don't you have anybody's numbers?" elaine rambles out as she looks towards matt like a madman, who widened his eyes at her sudden demanding mimic.
"i don't know?" matt whispers back, after he catches sight of the absolute nasty glares that the passenger send them through the slits of the seats.
elaine's frustration was probably heard through the whole plane.
"what are we gonna do, matt?"
matt was slightly taken back by the sudden noise of defeat coming from the girl besides him. her mood was practically hanging from her body as she looked at him with a frown. she was utterly stressed and her voice was small, like a wounded animal.
"let's just..." matt trailed his words off as he tried to find any way to cheer her up, instead of her having a full blown panic attack besides him.
"...try to survive this plane first." matt says with a sloppy grin as he nudged his own shoulder with elaine's, who actually had a tiny smile on her face from his words.
"we can worry about everything else after we land."
▬▬ 〄 ▬▬
turns out matt's plan 'to worry about it later' absolutely sucked ass.
the two where currently standing like lost children outside of the airport in dallas with blank looks as they stared into the distance, trying to figure out what to do now.
