Sometime in 1996, I could remember that one particular nostalgic Sunday afternoon when a good friend of mine introduced the word "cliché" to me.
I could remember myself being fascinated with its unique pronunciation and spelling. And, when you can use something wonderful for absolutely free, you tend to overuse it. So, I actually did.
Nakakasawa. Hindi na interesante. Walang bago. Parang buhay ko. Noon.
Although it was truly a shame to live a no extraordinary life, I still never really wished for a plot twist. The old book of my life used to have an unmarketable and unappealing plot, and I was like an insufferable main character who diligently followed what was already written.
But even the most clichéd cliche is apt to have a mind-blowing plot twist. And no, it is not something I only realized; it is something I experienced myself.
Being comfortably seated on a soft-cushioned swivel chair, facing hundreds of ecstatic fans, left hand aching after signing a thousand of books for 4 exhausting but very rewarding hours—will all forever serve as a solid and infrangible proof that plot twists do really happen even in the most unexpected point of your life.
"Thank you so much for coming.
I was just an aspiring writer, who had trouble sleeping at night when my thoughts didn't let me rest for a bit."
"But, you all made this possible. I wish I could do or say enough to repay your all-out support to me and to my books. So I'll just make sure to continue sharing stories that you'll love and enjoy."
"Alright! Thank you for that heartwarming message, Miss Tina!"
