Happy Chantel Choi POV

["What will you do, sis? Are you going back to Philippines for good?"]

"I think we ought to keep living here. This is a new start for me, Kuya, as I got used to it and also for Kalie. My daughter and I are better off here."

["I just thought na after mo manganak uuwi kana dito sa Philippines with my pamangkin. Anyway, wherever you want, I'll back you up."]

"Thank you Kuya Harry, don't worry, we'll be there on holiday for the twins' Birthday."

["Yes please, namimiss na kita at si Kalie.. oo nga pala, mom and I talked about you yesterday, she intends to visit you in Europe."]

"What about Dad?"

Kuya Harry sighed, and clear his throat.

["Galit parin sya. Kahit nga saakin, di nga ako makapasok sa bahay nila dahil sinabihan nya yung guard na wag akong papatungtungin sa property nya. That old man, nasobrahan sa katapangan."]

"Well, let him off the hook. Maybe the time will come he will accept everything."

["I hope so.."]

After a conversation with Kuya Harry, I took a quick glanced into the mirror, sinuklay ko ang buhok ko ng saglit bago ako tuluyang tumayo. I went to Kalie's room and watched her while she was asleep. Sweet little tiger of mine.

Nagpaalam ako na aalis na, may baby sitter naman ako na kinuha na isang pilipina din kaya kahit papaano may nagbabantay kay Kalie, pag kelangan ko pumunta sa Hospital para mag-work.

"I'm so excited na makauwi ng Philippine, tonight is our last duty." Monique said with excitement na may kasamang kilig.

"Kaya nga, grabe ilang taon din."

"Ikaw Happy? Are you excited? Magpapakita ka ba kay Tito Harold and Tita Nina?"

"I don't know, maybe kay mommy Yes, but kay Daddy? He's still mad, kahit nga kay Kuya Harry. After we did years back? Hanggang ngayon hindi parin nya kami napapatawad ni Kuya."

Hinaplos ni Hope nag likod ko at niyakap naman ako ni Monique.

"Lalambot din ang puso ni Tito Harold, alam ko.. Basta kausapin mo parin sya. Maiintindihan ka din nya pag marinig nya ang explanations mo. He's still your Dad." Hope said.

Tumango ako at matipid na ngumiti. Hope is right, sa pagbalik ko sa Philippines. Susubukan ko na humarap sa kanila with Kalie. Ipapakilala ko si Kalie sa kanila ni Mommy. Kahit na pagtabuyan pa ako ni Daddy but atleast makita ko man lang sila ni Mom, okay na ako dun. I miss them.. I made a mistake at matagal ko ng pinagbayaran yung consequences non. Raising my daughter on my own in this country isn't easy. Crying the whole night over rejection and frustration.  Postpartum and breakdown?  I got through all of it. But, right after I saw Kalie's face. It gives me strength to tell myself not to give up. Because here in front me, is the wellspring of my happiness and strength.

I stood up to cheer them up. Mga mukang namatayan kasi sila na nag-iiyakan pa. Ayoko pa naman ng ganyan nakakaloka. Imbis magsaya dahil makakapag bakasyon nagdadramahan pa.
