Back at the bunker, Sam watched Dean stuff his duffle bag with clothes, books, essentials, and weapons. He wondered if maybe he should go with him.

"Dean..."

"Don't, Sam," Dean said, already knowing what he was planning to say, "Just don't."

Sam took a deep breath and walked over. He sat on his bed.

"What do you need me to do," Sam asked gently.

Dean paused for a moment, as if he was thinking about how to answer him.

"Take care of yourself and your partners," Dean said, "And Cas too."

"That's a given. Anything else," Sam asked.

Dean glanced at him. For a brief moment, there was a hint of guilt in his eyes before they hardened again.

"Take care of Mystic Falls for me," Dean said in almost a whisper.

Sam gave a small, reassuring smile.

"Yeah. I can do that," Sam agreed.

Dean stood up, throwing his bag over his shoulder.

"Be careful," Sam said, "Don't trust him."

"Sam, I was never planning to," Dean reasoned, "I trust his words, but I don't trust that bastard."

Sam walked Dean out of his room. Eileen stood up from the table. She gave a gentle smile as Dean hugged her. He signed 'I'll miss you' to her. Her eyes lit up at seeing he had been practicing.

"I'll miss you too," Eileen said, signing it back to him.

He grinned and turned to Gabriel.

"If you need help, just give me a shout," Gabriel said, sounding unusually serious, "I'll be there."

Dean nodded but Gabriel grabbed his arm.

"I play trickster for shits and giggles, but I'm still an archangel, Dean. I won't hesitate if you're in danger," Gabriel insisted.

"I know, Gabe. I know. I already got you on prayer speed dial," Dean reassured, "Where's Rowena?"

"Here," Rowena said, standing up from the library, "I made a little something that should keep you off of supernatural radar for the time being. Try not to lose it, deary."

She placed a ring in his hand. He noticed the Salvatore symbol on it, making him swallow thickly.

"Thanks, Rowena," Dean said.

"Just do us all a favor and don't get yourself killed... Again I might add," Rowena teased with a smile.

Dean smiled back.

"I will try my best," Dean said, looking around for Castiel, "I should go..."

"I'm going with you."

Dean turned to see Castiel walking up to him in quick strides.

"No, it's alright," Dean reassured, "I got it, Cas."

"I'm going whether you want me to or not..."

"Hey," Dean said, grabbing his shoulders, "What's going on?"

Castiel stared at him for a moment.

"I finally got what I wanted," Castiel said, "And it feels like it's slipping through my fingers faster than I can handle. I can't do this. I won't leave you, Dean."

"You're not losing me," Dean said, "I will be sure to pray to you every night and tell you what's happening. Castiel, you still have me. I'm not going anywhere. Not again."

Castiel lowered his eyes, still reluctant to accept.

"Every night," Castiel said.

"If I don't pray, you have permission to enter my dream and interrogate me," Dean teased.

"If you need me..."

"I'll give you shout. I know," Dean finished.

Castiel finally relaxed a bit. Then he kissed him long and hard before letting Dean walk out to his car. He tossed his duffle bag in the back seat and drove to the Mikaelson mansion.

Damon looked through his 6th lore book for the day. He thought if he could provide answers before Klaus then Dean wouldn't need him.

"Damon..."

"You got the bourbon," Damon asked, looking up at Stefan.

"You want to talk about it," Stefan asked, setting down the bottle.

"Nope," Damon said, pouring himself a glass.

"You can't keep bottling this up," Stefan said.

"Check this out," Damon said, shoving a lore book in his hands, "Third paragraph on page 132."

Stefan opened it and read it. It spoke about unnatural occurrences due to nature loopholes. Sometimes it could lead to bizarre animals and other times it could lead to something more deadly.

"Most supernatural creatures are already considered nature loopholes," Stefan read, "But there are times nature creates something so bizarre that even the supernatural fear it... What are you suggesting?"

"Klaus wanted Dean as a friend, right," Damon asked, drinking from his cup and shoving a heavily written notepad in his hand, "Maybe he wants him not because of his blood but because he's afraid! I'm a genius! You're welcome!"

Stefan raised his eyebrows as that actually would make a lot of sense. Klaus is the type to befriend a dangerous ally to see their capabilities first. But still, if he had some sense of the danger Dean could possess, he wouldn't be so quick to have him live with him.

"That makes sense but Klaus isn't stupid enough to have Dean stay in his home if he's dangerous," Stefan said.

"He will if Dean doesn't know yet," Damon said, shoving a pile of books and papers around, "For example, sometimes the supernatural need a moment to manifest themselves. The person possessing powers doesn't know they have them until the situation calls for life or death instances. Dean probably doesn't even know he's considered dangerous."

"But Klaus did a similar thing with me, and he made sure I knew. It doesn't make sense why he would keep it from Dean," Stefan reasoned, crossing his arms.

"Klaus pushed your limits to see how far your Ripper stage would go. He tested your self control so he knew your capabilities," Damon said, "But he doesn't know Dean's and neither does Dean himself. He has to play it smart because of this."

"Are you suggesting that Dean is a vampire," Stefan asked.

"Stefan, I looked Dean in his eyes," Damon said, his voice suddenly low, "And although I saw a hunter in them, there was something else lurking. Dean only appears human because he grew up believing he was."

Stefan knitted his eyebrows.

"How does this relate to Klaus again," Stefan asked.

"If I know Dean isn't human, then there's a good chance Klaus already knows," Damon explained, "And what better way to poke the sleeping bear then by inviting it into your home for hibernation? Klaus is going to manifest that supernatural side one way or another, and I don't think he'll be able to stop what comes out."

Stefan the thought it further. Dean is already a skilled hunter, adding an uncontrollable supernatural side to him will make him near unstoppable. If Klaus succeeds... Yeah. There's no way he could stop Dean.

"Dammit," Stefan whispered.

"Dammit is correct," Damon sighed, "We just sent a ticking time bomb to a curious idiot."
