Chapter 28- The Search

Dean barged into the house, making Sam turn around.

"What all do you know," Dean asked, immediately going to the issue at hand.

"Bonnie," Enzo said, "He was visiting Bonnie. They were going to talk. I called her and the call was cut short."

"After that, we kept trying both of their cells and got no response," Sam said, "It's like their phones were shut down entirely."

"And we don't have anything else," Dean asked.

"Rowena is currently working a tracking spell, but so far she's not picking up anything," Sam said, "Whoever took them, must have something blocking her magic."

"Dammit," Dean muttered, "Which park did they go to?"

Dean drove to the park Elena gave him and walked around. He looked for anything that was out of the ordinary. Dean lifted his head as he heard a familiar whistling tune nearby. He turned around to see Benny, Marcel, and Castiel walking up to him.

"Hey, guys," Dean said, a bit of relief reaching his chest, "Thanks for helping."

"Anytime, Dean," Benny smiled, "You know that."

Dean gave him a small smile in return.

"Some of my guys are searching around this place a bit," Marcel reported, "I also have a few trying to get a view of the security cameras."

"No need."

Klaus walked forward with Elijah and Rebekah beside him.

"I just got off of the phone with Kol," Klaus said, "Every camera was down during the time Damon and Bonnie were taken. This was obviously a planned-out abduction."

"They would have to be strong enough to actually take them like this as well," Rebekah said, "I came face to face with both Damon and Bonnie. They are not that easy to take down. Especially when they work together."

Dean continued searching for something on the ground with his flashlight.

"What are you looking for," Marcel asked.

"A track," Dean said, "A shoe print. Something... Anything to point me to a lead on who we're looking for."

"Blood print?"

Dean glanced over at Benny and Elijah standing by a tree. He walked over and examined what they found.

"Vampire or witch," Dean asked.

"Vampire," Benny said, lowering his eyes, "It could've been a simple battling wound, Dean. There's no saying for sure that Damon..."

Dean tuned Benny out as he looked at the ground. If there was a blood print then obviously it led to a blood trail nearby. Dean kicked around some leaves and knelt down when he felt his foot hit something solid. He smirked as he saw a pocket knife that was actually his. Damon must've taken it when he was sleeping one day. The knife was bloody, meaning he cut his hand on purpose to show he was taken. Dean examined the knife direction and noticed the blade pointing straight ahead. He lifted his eyes and went to the street in that direction.

Damon mentioned his usage of multiple clues as well. They talked about it after Dean and Sam started spending more time in Mystic Falls. Dean had never been more grateful to know Damon actually followed through with leaving clues.
