The next day, Dean sat up slowly on the couch of the Salvatore home. He grunted as his head throbbed, revealing he had quite a bit of alcohol last night. Sam tossed him a water bottle and he caught it.

"What the hell happened," Dean mumbled, his mouth dry.

"Good news or bad news first," Sam asked.

"Let's start with good," Dean said, drinking the water.

"Cas told you he loved you and you two are now officially dating," Sam said, making Dean give a flustered smile as recalled that part.

"And the bad news," Dean asked.

"Damon tricked you to get you to confess to him," Sam said, "It worked and now he's having a chat with your new boyfriend."

"A chat," Dean asked, not understanding how that was bad.

"An overprotective fatherly chat," Sam explained.

"Oh, no," Dean groaned.

"Oh, yes," Sam said, holding back his laughter, "I can already hear the unnecessary threats being thrown Cas's way, in case he breaks your heart..."

"Cas wouldn't do that," Dean said, shaking his head, "Would he?"

"Dude, Cas is head over fucking heels for you," Sam chuckled, "He always has been. But try explaining that to your pops.

Damon and Castiel walked inside. Dean stood up, staggering a bit before walking over.

"Hey, Cas..."

Dean was caught off guard when Castiel caressed his cheek gently. He helped him sober faster with a gentle smile. Dean lowered his head as that warm feeling returned a bit.

"Hello, Dean," Castiel said.

"Hi," Dean said, lightly, "Uh, Damon... Can I talk to you privately?"

"Sure," Damon shrugged, walking to his room with Dean following, "What's up?"

"You weren't threatening, Cas," Dean asked, "Were you?"

"No, what made you think that," Damon said, knitting his eyebrows.

"Nothing," Dean said, shaking his head, "Forget it. Um, what are we doing today?"

"Today I actually have something I need to do, unfortunately," Damon said.

"What is it," Dean asked, crossing his arms over his chest, "Maybe I can help out or something."

"Ever heard of the originals," Damon asked, leaning on his desk.

"I don't believe I have," Dean said, "Should I?"

"They're one of the first vampires to ever walk this earth," Damon explained, "They're the oldest living of our kind. I have to go speak with them today."

"What about," Dean asked, "Or do you just kind of follow orders no matter what?"

"I don't follow orders," Damon scoffed, "I'm sired to one of them, but they didn't turn me themselves. So I'm not required to follow any orders they give."

Dean lowered his eyes in deep thought.

"How does that work," Dean asked, "Do you feel like you have to? Or would a vampire want to follow?"

"Someone who has a sire bond would want to follow," Damon explained, "They'll feel indebted to their sire. It's like obsessive love. The vampire can't help it though."
