Dean sat on the couch while cleaning his weapons. Footsteps made him turn with a gun raised. Sam sighed deeply at seeing his brother still up.
"Dean, you've been doing this for two nights now," Sam said.
Dean glanced behind Sam in question. Sam lowered his eyes to the ground, knowing he wanted to ask about Damon.
"He's asleep. Elena is next to him and Uncle Stefan is also stationed outside of his room. We have wards all over the house," Sam reassured, "No one's getting in. No one's getting out. Okay?"
Dean nodded slowly and rubbed his eyes as he muffled a yawn. He sat back on the couch as Sam joined him. He glanced over at his brother, watching him clean the guns with him.
"Sorry for raising my gun at you," Dean said, his voice was low and tired.
"Not the first time. Doubt it'll be the last," Sam said, playfully.
Dean huffed out a small chuckle.
"Are you going to keep staying in here and cleaning guns," Sam asked, "Or are you going to address what's really going on?"
"I'm fine," Dean said.
"Bullshit," Sam said.
"Sam, I'm fine," Dean snapped.
Sam went quiet.
"I thought you might say that so," Sam said, getting up, "I called a few people who I knew would convince you to talk."
Sam opened the door and stepped aside. Klaus, Benny, Castiel, and even Lucien walked inside. Sam closed the door behind them. They sat down around Dean in the living room and began helping him with his weapons.
"I'll be upstairs if you need me," Sam said.
Sam went back to his room, leaving them to deal with Dean. Dean turned his eyes back to the gun in his hands.
"I could use a drink," Klaus said, getting up.
He came back with cups for all of them and a bottle of what looked like whiskey. It was probably a smart move since Damon didn't like his Bourbon being touched without permission.
"How are you feeling," Klaus asked, starting the conversation.
"I'm..."
"If you finish that sentence with 'fine' so help me father," Castiel snarked.
Dean took a cup of whiskey and drank from it.
"I don't know," Dean confessed, shaking his head, "I'm supposed to be fine, right? I mean Damon and Bonnie are back. They're safe from Lucifer and sleeping soundly. But I can't relax. Lucifer could've killed them, but he let them go. It just makes things even more unsettling, you know?"
"Don't know much about the devil personally, but from the stories I've heard, he's a real joy to be around. He makes the Mikaelsons seem like chew toys," Benny said.
"You want to run that by me again," Klaus warned.
"Listen, all I'm saying is I agree with ya, Dean. I'm thinking that maybe he took those two as a distraction or something," Benny suggested, "If the strongest hunters are worried about protecting their family, then they can't be worried about what he's doing behind the curtain, can they?"
"He has a point. It's what I would've done," Lucien confessed, causing Klaus to agree with a nod.
Dean shook his head.
