Sam sat in the room Rowena was currently occupying. She finally showed up, making him stand.
"Sorry for the wait, Samuel," Rowena said, her voice light as she glided to the table with a book, "I was having some issues with someone who couldn't keep their mouth shut."
"It's not a problem," Sam said, "I'm just hoping you can give me some answers on this."
"What's going on," Rowena asked, "Where's the other one?"
"He's drunk and sleeping," Sam said, knowing she was speaking about Dean.
"Did Castiel and him have an argument again," Rowena asked.
"Not this time," Sam said, sitting down, "It's bigger than that. Apparently, Dean is adopted. We went to find his father only to find out his dad is a vampire. So we're trying to figure out how this is possible."
"Well first things first, how long has the father been a vampire," Rowena asked.
"For over 100 years."
Rowena turned, ready to attack. Stefan gave a small wave. Thankfully, Rowena's room was in a place available to everyone, meaning Stefan didn't need an invite to come in.
"Sorry, the door was unlocked, I assumed I could come inside," Stefan said.
"Who is this," Rowena asked.
"This is Stefan," Sam introduced, "He's Dean's biological uncle. Also a vampire."
"How are you walking in the sun," Rowena asked.
"I have a ring that allows me to," Stefan said, "I heard you could help figure out what was going on. I would've brought Damon with me but he's currently drowning himself in liquor at a bar nearby."
"You too, huh," Sam sassed.
"Well, if Damon has been a vampire for over 100 years then it shouldn't be possible," Rowena reasoned, "However it isn't impossible either. Most times, vampires' chances of reproducing are less than 1%. In fact, it's actually a 0.1% chance of it happening. It's very rare amongst vampires but not impossible. I can only assume that Damon and Dean were the few that happened."
"Is there maybe a spell or something to determine this," Stefan asked, "No offense, I just want to proof."
Rowena sighed deeply and pulled out a map.
"Since you are also related to Dean your blood should work," Rowena said, holding out her hand.
Stefan hesitated but allowed her to grab his hand. She sliced his palm and let the blood drip on the map. She began doing a spell to find the location of any relatives of Stefan. Slowly the blood on the map moved. It stopped at a nearby bar where Damon was located, then stopped at a place somewhere in Kansas. Exactly where Dean was located. The blood also began to run near New York, but Sam got distracted as Rowena spoke again.
"This spell was showing relatives that currently reside on this earth," Rowena said, "I assume the one in this city is the father. That can only mean the other one is..."
"Dean," Sam finished, "Thanks, Rowena."
"You're welcome, Samuel," Rowena said, "By the way, I hope Dean finds comfort in knowing his father isn't John. I remember how he wasn't the best person towards you or your brother."
"Thanks," Sam smiled, walking out with Stefan beside him.
"So Dean is a... Is some kind of miracle child then," Stefan asked.
"I guess so," Sam said.
"How are you taking this," Stefan asked, "I know we're supposed to be focused on finding the truth for our brothers but are you okay?"
"Uh, yeah," Sam said, shoving his hands in his pockets, "It's a lot of take in. I'm not sure if I'm considered Dean's brother anymore. I mean he's adopted so does that still count. I'm a bit worried truthfully."
"Blood or not, Dean and you grew up together as a family," Stefan reasoned, "Usually that always counts for something, right?"
"I guess so," Sam smiled, "Should we try this again with the whole father-son bonding thing?"
"Yeah, we should probably do it over something they can both agree on," Stefan suggested.
"Damon seems to like beer, and so does Dean," Sam said, "Maybe a bar?"
"There's one in Mystic Falls. It's called the Mystic Grill. Great drink selection, karaoke, food, nice scenery," Stefan suggested, "Sounds like something Dean would be into?"
"You have no idea," Sam said, chuckling lightly, "I'll convince him to go sometime next week?"
"Early next week maybe," Stefan asked, "That way Damon doesn't get impatient with me?"
"Sure," Sam said, "Thanks, Stefan."
"No problem," Stefan said, leaving to retrieve Damon from the bar.
Sam went back to the bunker. He went to Dean's room and saw Castiel quietly reading in Dean's room. Dean had been moved to the bed, more than likely with his help. Sam waved as they made eye contact.
"What did you find," Castiel asked, walking out of Dean's room.
"Dean is actually his son," Sam said, "Also Damon had him as a vampire. Turns out Dean is a miracle child. He was the 0.1% chance of a vampire having a baby."
Castiel glanced back.
"So what now," Castiel asked.
"I have to convince him to go to Mystic Falls with me again sometime early next week," Sam said, glancing at Dean, "You should join us. He likes your company. Dean feels more protected when you're around."
Castiel lowered his head.
"I guess I can tag along," Castiel said.
"Yeah, it'll be fun," Sam said, patting his back.
He left Castiel standing there with a smile on his face. Setting up father-son bonding and a CasDean date... Two birds with one stone, Sam was on a roll!
