WARNINGS: Violence
AUTHOR NOTE: This is only a side story between Dean and Elijah. Even though it doesn't follow the plot of the main story, it is canon in this fanfic world.
Dean looked around the mansion searching for Elijah's whereabouts. He found the vampire reading quietly in his office.
"Something you require from me, Dean," Elijah asked, having recognized the sound of his footsteps by now.
"You're good at martial arts and everything, right," Dean asked, leaning against the threshold of the entrance.
"That's correct," Elijah said, lifting his eyes from his page, "Why do you ask?"
"Do you think you can teach me," Dean asked.
Elijah tilted his head intrigued at his request.
"Are you not already exceptional at the skill," Elijah asked.
"Don't get me wrong I am, but I think I can learn a thing or two from a thousand year old vampire," Dean shrugged, "So?"
Elijah marked his place in his book and closed it.
"You know, if I do accept you as a student I don't intend to go easy," Elijah said.
"I wouldn't count on it," Dean said.
Elijah set his book aside and stood up.
"Get changed. I'll meet you downstairs," Elijah said, giving Dean a small smile.
Dean grunted as he hit the ground again. He could see the small trails of blood dripping from his nose and mouth from the hits he's taken.
"Done already," Elijah asked, waiting to see if Dean was planning to quit.
Dean would've quit a while ago too, but with the way Elijah keeps taunting him, he can't. His ego won't let him quit until he's knocked this smug, self-righteous prick on his ass! So he stood back to his feet, his eyes flickering black to change his fighting style, strength, speed, and resilience.
Elijah carefully scanned his stance, noting the difference in his posture. If he had to guess, Dean would strike right first to guide him into his left hook and body slam. A wonderful tactic for a less talented opponent for sure but not for him. He stepped forward, circling the gym arena that he and Dean were training in.
Dean remained tensed as he followed his movements closely. He could try to guide him into a left hook but Elijah is likely suspecting that already. Even with Dark Hunter, Dean's barely found an opening on him. When he does find an opening, Elijah quickly blocks it.
Not to mention, his fighting style keeps changing. It's like the minute he suspects Dean has altered to match him, he changes again. It's kinda annoying but at the same time, Dean was enjoying himself. Dark Hunter was struggling to keep up and so was he. Fighting Elijah was a challenge which made it fun.
Dean charged at Elijah, counting the amount of times he dodges before raising his fist to attack. Just as he makes a move to attack, Dean jumps back, putting distance between them. Four dodges. He did the same thing the last time Dark Hunter altered Dean's body too. He needs time to understand Dean's new style of fighting. Dean only has four chances to land a hit on him. After those four chances are up, Elijah switches.
Elijah's eyes darted over Dean cautiously. He's behaving different. He's being more careful about his attack patterns. Not because of his altering though. It's like he's figured something out. Elijah glanced at his posture. Stiff but not tense. He was more relaxed. Something's changed but what is it?
Elijah noticed his eyes flicker black again. Another altering. Which moves did he pick up this time? Dean charged at him at a rapid speed, Elijah blocked the hit and dodged the jab aimed at his throat. While moving downwards to dodge his hit, he missed the foot aimed at his head. That was until Dean had his ankle hooked onto his neck. Dean twisted his body, slamming Elijah's face into the ground hard enough to break his skull. His attack was so fast and hard Elijah actually struggled to counter it.
Dean jumped away from him, panting and sweating hard. He let out a small chuckle as a grin reached his face. He actually did it! He actually managed to hit him!
"Son of a bitch! I did it," Dean cheered, pumping his fists in the air, "Yes! Take that, you ancient dick!"
Elijah lifted from the ground, his vampirism briefly gathering in his face before relaxing. He sat back to wipe the blood from his head.
"You knew I would be busy trying to read your changes and took advantage of it. I'm impressed," Elijah complimented.
"Don't stop now. Keep those compliments coming," Dean said, tilting his chin up pridefully.
Elijah huffed out a small laugh. Dean walked over to help him up.
"Thanks for helping me with training," Dean said.
Dean stiffened as he noticed Elijah's grip on his hand increase. He glanced at his hand before darting his attention back to Elijah.
"You hold a lot of promise, Dean," Elijah said.
"Uh, thanks. You mind letting me go," Dean said.
"I will. Same time next week," Elijah asked, finally releasing him.
"Uh."
"Good. If you don't show up, I will come find you," Elijah smiled.
"Elijah, wait. I only asked to be trained once," Dean started, watching him leave the arena to get cleaned up.
"Come now, Dean. I can't let such a promising student slip through my fingers," Elijah said, grabbing the towel waiting for him.
Elijah wiped the blood and sweat from his face, revealing he had already healed over. He turned to Dean with another smile that felt way too sinister to be comforting.
"You're my new project. Remember to take a hot shower after this. I don't need my prized student catching cramps on me," Elijah said, wagging his finger while heading for the exit.
Dean watched him leave with his mouth hung open. Around that same time, Klaus walked in, seemingly searching for Dean.
"Hello, Neeklaus," Elijah greeted on the way out.
"He's in a cheery mood," Klaus said, pointing at Elijah with his thumb, "What happened while I was away?"
"I'm pretty sure I just signed my soul to the devil," Dean grumbled.
Klaus was only left more confused as Dean dragged his feet out of the gym.
