Four Months Later

Dean woke up, blinking a few times to adjust his eyes. He sat up and stretched before remembering he crashed at the Salvatore house after hunting for two weeks straight. He made his way downstairs as his stomach grumbled.

Damn side effects from his new abilities. He's always hungry and exhausted after using them.

"Dad," Dean said, reaching the bottom step.

Damon turned around and smiled.

"Glad to see you're finally awake," Damon said, placing a plate of food on the counter for him, "Thought you'd be hungry."

"Starving," Dean said, grabbing the plate, "How long was I out for this time?"

"Three days," Damon sighed, "You were asleep for three whole days."

"Where's Sammy," Dean asked, shoving his mouth full of bacon.

"He's out with Kai. They're doing a job together right now. You ever think about taking a break, Dean," Damon asked, a hint of concern in him, "You've been at it for three months now unless you're sleeping."

"I would," Dean said, "But I've gotten so much stronger. And the rush..."

"It feels nice, I know," Damon said, "But you should also rest."

"I sleep," Dean said.

"Not just sleeping, Dean, you know what I mean," Damon reasoned, handing him a cup of coffee.

"It's like the same thing," Dean sassed, knowing he meant relaxing.

"No, it's not," Damon said, "You know that."

"Yes, Father," Dean sassed, holding out his plate for more food.

Damon took the plate to fill it back up. Dean also tends to eat quite a bit once he does wake up.

A knock on the door made Dean get up to answer it. Klaus stood there with a smile.

"Klaus, I wasn't expecting you," Dean said, tilting his head curiously.

"I got news you were finally waking up," Klaus said, stepping inside.

"Who did you kill to find out that," Dean sassed, closing the door behind him.

"Me? I would never," Klaus teased.

"Right, because you're such a saint now," Dean sassed, "You turned over a new leaf..."

"I'm a law-abiding citizen living to do the lord's work," Klaus taunted, making Dean huff out a laugh.

"What brings you here," Dean asked.

"Checking on my favorite friend," Klaus said.

"Klaus, I'm your only friend," Dean sassed.

"First of all, people love me," Klaus sassed.

"The only people that love you are your siblings," Dean said, "Everyone else tolerates you..."

"You and I both know you love me too, Dean," Klaus teased, "Don't pretend you don't."

"I don't..."

"You do..."

"I honestly don't..."

"You love me so much it hurts..."
