WARNINGS: Indications of Torture and PTSD

The next day, Josie was brought to the mansion to help with the school project.

"Thanks for inviting me over," Josie smiled.

"Sure thing. I know you've been wanting to know more about me and I think it's time I give you that," Hope said, sitting down on the bed and patting the spot next to her.

Josie gave her a playful suspicious look.

"You're not planning to seduce me, are you," Josie teased.

"Would you like me to," Hope asked, a hint of seriousness in her tone.

Josie laughed it off either way and sat down with her.

"So about the project..."

"Josie, you wouldn't lie to me, right? I mean we've been friends for nearly a month now and I want to trust you," Hope confessed, "I want to know that you actually want the same thing I do."

"What are you talking about? Of course, I want the same," Josie said, knitting her eyebrows, "Are you feeling okay, Hope?"

"Who are you, Josie," Hope asked.

"I'm a student at Beacon Hills High. I'm a siphoner witch. I don't understand what you want me to say," Josie said, shaking her head, "Where is this even coming from?"

Hope felt despair wash over here before her emotions hardened. She tore her eyes away from her and let out a breath of defeat.

"So that's it, huh," Hope asked.

Josie tensed up and stood to leave before Hope latched onto her arm. She could feel Josie siphoning from her upon contact. Josie turned, lifting her hand to crush her internal organs. Hope grimaced in pain but didn't release her. Josie increased the pressure before she saw the heartbroken expression on her face. Her spell began to falter but didn't break.

"I really wanted to believe in you, Josie," Hope admitted.

Josie felt her vision shift unsteadily as if she took some kind of sedative. Before she knew it, she was on the ground, fading in and out of consciousness.

When Josie came to, she was chained to a chair. Her first thought was to escape, but the idea quickly vanished once she realized she wasn't alone.

"It's Josie, right? We haven't formally met. I'm Hope's father," Klaus greeted.

Klaus noticed the brief flicker of fear in her eyes.

"You've heard of me," Klaus asked, an amused smirk reaching his lips.

"You carry quite a reputation with you, Klaus Mikaelson, le fou," Josie said, calling him 'Klaus Mikaelson, the mad' in french.

Klaus let out a small chuckle. It's been a while since someone's called him that.

"You've done your research, have you? I must say I'm a bit surprised a child would be so bold as to try and gather information on my daughter. So who is it? Who are you working for," Klaus asked.

Josie remained silent, refusing to confess. Klaus hummed softly and turned around.

"We're jumping right into the fun then, hm," Klaus hummed, turning back with a knife in hand, "I would attempt to compel you, but something tells me you've accounted for that and taken vervain. Thankfully, I've always preferred the torture part of the interrogation."

Josie stayed silent, refusing to meet his eyes and refusing to give up her truth.

Outside of the door, Hope squeezed her eyes closed as she heard Josie screaming in pain from inside the room. She quickly walked downstairs, running into Jack on the way to the kitchen.

"Hope, can I ask you a question," Jack asked.

"Sure, I guess," Hope shrugged, stopping to hear him out.

"Do you love that girl? Josie?"

Hope averted her eyes.

"I think love is too strong of a word for it. I like her. A lot. But I don't know. It's complicated," Hope shrugged.

"Even after she lied to you," Jack asked.

"Yeah," Hope chuckled, "It's difficult to explain but there's just something about her that draws me in. I wish I could explain it but I can't. I just like her."

"I don't get it. If it hurts then why put up with it? All that pain and suffering seems so pointless to me," Jack said, shaking his head, "Thanks for answering me though. I know this must be hard for you, so if you want I can watch over the door for you."

"I'll be fine, little angel. No need to worry about me," Hope reassured, patting him on the shoulder.

She continued her task of grabbing a snack from the kitchen. Hope claimed she was fine, but she knows that Josie's screams will haunt her dreams for months after this is over.

Back in the room, Klaus stepped back to clean his blade.

"I must say you're quite resilient," Klaus said.

He noticed Josie mumbling to herself.

"Josie. 5562908."

She's been repeating that since he's starting torturing her. Nothing else though.

"Right then," Klaus said, raising his blade to see his reflection, "Let's continue..."

Klaus turned back to see Josie was gone. He caught sight of another girl jumping from the balcony with Josie in tow. He jammed the blade into the table, letting it stick through.

"Seems like there's two of them after all," Klaus said, whipping out his cellphone.

He pulled up Dean's contact and called him.

"Heading your way, sweetheart," Klaus smiled.

"Thanks, Klaus. I'll see you soon."

Klaus ended the call and turned to the balcony.

"About ready out there," Klaus asked, cleaning his hands.

Elijah stepped into the room from the balcony, revealing he was watching the girls leave from the outside.

"Lucien has already finished his task. Although he's still bitter about not getting an invite to the torture part of the interrogation," Elijah said.

"I'll make it up to him later. For now, let us depart," Klaus said, drying his hands, "It'd be a shame to keep everyone waiting."

Elijah headed towards the exit with Klaus hot on his tail.
