A couple nights later, Dean is getting ready for tonight's family dinner when he hears a knock on the bathroom door and opens it to see Damon. He looks incredibly uncomfortable.

"I'm not doing this dinner," Damon hissed.

"Yes, you are," Dean snapped, pointing at him, "You will be civilized and you're going to like it."

"I love you, son. I do. But this is asking too much! I feel like I'm seconds away from getting ripped apart by a bunch of hyenas," Damon said.

"Just for one night. That's all I'm asking," Dean requested.

"All it takes is one night for shit to go to the fan, especially in the Mikaelson house," Damon reasoned.

He's not wrong.

"Look, if things start to feel too hostile, you can take Stefan and leave," Dean reasoned.

"If things feel too hostile, I'm dragging you and Sam with me," Damon said before storming off grumpily.

Dean scratched at his nape. At least he cares enough to drag him and Sam to safety. During dinner, Kol stared at Stiles eating dinner at the table with them.

"So, Stiles, you really don't recall anything," Kol asked.

Stiles looked up at him with a questioning look on his face.

"I'm sorry," Stiles asked.

"Nothing," Kol said with an almost saddened look on his face.

"This, um, gravy is really good. Did you guys make this yourself," Sam asked, taking in another spoonful of mashed potatoes and gravy.

"No. We compelled someone else to make it before draining them to death to serve the wine," Elijah said.

Sam stared at Elijah in discomfort. Elijah took notice and broke out in a smile.

"I'm joking, Sam. We paid for it," Elijah reassured.

Sam lowered his eyes and cleared his throat uneasily.

"How are you kids enjoying your new home," Dean asked, recalling that they had recently moved into the Mikaelson mansion since it provided more room.

"It's comfortable," Jack said.

"Yes, and with Hope being a Mikaelson, I guess this makes all of us family," Kol sassed, "I do hope you enjoy empty promises with a side of backstabbers."

"Kol, behave yourself," Elijah warned.

"It's not like I'm lying or anything," Kol said, "Right, Nik?"

"What are you suggesting, Kol," Klaus asked, narrowing his eyes at him.

"Nothing. It's just you being a parent is unreasonable," Kol continued, "I'm scared for the kids if I'm being honest. They raise their voices and they may end up in a coffin for a hundred years or so..."

Dean grabbed Klaus's arm before he could even react.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Did I hit a nerve," Kol asked innocently.

"Kol, that is enough," Elijah snapped, "We are amongst company so let's have a civilized dinner."

"That's never stopped us before," Kol snarked.

"Kol, now you're begging for a reaction. What? Are you trying to embarrass us," Rebekah asked.

"Maybe I'm trying to warn our guests about this family and its bloody curse of hurting everyone we love," Kol said.
