The cheers from the crowd were intoxicating as I stood on the pitch and waited for the rest of the team to join us on the field. There were few times I felt smaller than standing on the Quidditch pitch looking up at the stands full of people peering down. I was bouncing from one leg to the other, itching to mount my broom and start the match.

Ronnie was talking last minute strategies with Imelda when Finn sauntered over to her and interrupted. "You alright?"

"Get out of here O'Leary! Stop trying to distract our Seeker!" Imelda chastised, waving him off.

"I'm well enough to beat you and the rest of the Hufflepuffs," she taunted.

"Good to know it will be a fair game then!" He laughed and winked before walking back to his team. I was going to try to knock him off his broom... Doesn't matter that I'm a Chaser. Hufflepuff might just lose their Keeper during this game.

Ronnie turned to me and with a knowing smirk at my heated expression.

"Where have you lot been?!" Imelda shouted and we turned to see Reggie and Ignatius leisurely approaching.

"Just preparing for the game, Captain," Ignatius offered coolly as he adjusted his gloves. His long black hair was pulled into a tight bun and his pale skin looked even whiter with the sun glaring down on him.

Reggie saluted her mockingly and I saw red. I felt two people grab onto my arms as I wound up to punch Reggie in his stupid face. He flinched away looking pathetic and terrified. I looked to see Imelda holding onto my left arm and Ronnie on my right. She looked up at me with pleading eyes which immediately softened me.

"Why are you defending these pricks?"

"I'm not defending him! I'm defending you!" She exclaimed and spat at Reggie's feet.

"You guys need to get it together!" Imelda exclaimed releasing me. "If we lose today because of you, Reginald, I don't care who your family is! You will be off the team!"

Reggie held his hands up. "Chill out. There's no way we can lose to these Hufflepuff pansies."

   Ignatius laughed.

"We already have you dimwits," Imelda shot back.

"Ahhh well that's because our Seeker sucked. Hopefully little Veronica here is actually as good as she pretends to be," Ignatius snorted.

"It was also because you couldn't keep them from hurling the Quaffle through our goals! And you," she turned on Reggie, leaving Ignatius looking embarrassed, "I need you to get off this pretentious, jealous, high horse of yours and protect our Seeker during this game." She poked his chest. "You hear me?" She growled out.

"I can do my job," Reggie nodded. "Let's see if it was a good move for you to swap our Seeker before a huge game."

"Everything alright?" Madam Kogawa called out.

"Yes ma'am!" Imelda confirmed holding Reggie's glare for another moment before walking over to shake hands with the Hufflepuff team captain.

"I can't wait to watch you show 'em how amazing you are sweetheart," I mused, looking down at Ronnie who was still holding onto my arm.

I saw the fire return to her eyes and she flashed me a determined look as Madam Kogawa went over the rules. Then we all mounted our brooms and flew up before she released the snitch and Bludgers and then threw up the Quaffle. The stands erupted in cheers and the game began.
