-Sebastian-
I felt my body wake before my mind. My fingers tingled and felt out of my control, my body heavy in the bed. My mind was lost in a distant plane of nothingness, part of me wanted to wake, but the other part enjoyed the nothingness of this existence.
Wake up...
Wake up...
Pathetic...
Voices whispered to me, eerie voices that echoed in my mind.
Wake up, boy!
Yes! Wake!
I groaned as the voice continued.
"Sebastian?" A voice rang through the others, pulling me from their dark whispering.
"Sebastian? Are you okay?" The voice called again, and I felt myself come into my own body along with a pain, heaviness, and unfamiliarity in my own skin.
"Bash?"
My eyes shot open, and there she was.
Fiery green eyes shining down at me, white hair falling down around her face like a waterfall of starlight. The freckles that dotted her nose and cheeks were more brilliant than the stars in the sky.
"Ron..." I tried to whisper, but my voice felt trapped in my throat.
Whether I was dead or alive, it did not matter to me, as long as I had her.
Tears started falling from her eyes and she leaned forward, laying her head on my chest. It sent a jolt of pain through me and I knew that I must not be dead.
"Sebastian... You're awake... Bloody hell..." she choked through sobs.
I wrapped my arms around her, though it felt like trying to move through molasses, I needed to hold her, feel that she was real.
"Ronnie..." I whispered out, losing myself in the smell of her. But then the memories started washing back. Horrid memories that had haunted my sleep. "I'm so sorry, Veronica..." I said as tears came to my eyes, remembering her broken, bloodied body.
She pulled away and looked at me. Her eyes rimmed in red, and puffy from tears making her green eyes shine brighter. "I'm sorry... I... I thought he killed you..." She choked on sobs again, and I pulled her against me again.
"No... no..." I said in a soft voice. "You have nothing to apologize for..." I buried my face in her hair. "Something happened... Pierce... his magic wasn't working..." trying to remember was hurting my head, and I gripped onto Ronnie tighter.
"It doesn't matter right now..." she breathed out and took a deep breath, steadying herself. "We're alive... we have each other... that's all that matters to me right now..." She pulled back and I brought my hand to her face and wiped at her tears.
"I love you..." I breathed out.
She flashed me a weak smile as I took all of her in. "I love you too..." she said as she closed her eyes and leaned into my touch.
"And I love you both..." Ominis' voice rang out, and Ronnie and I turned to him as he came to stand by the bedside.
Ominis came over to the opposite side of my bed and placed his hand on my shoulder with a soft smile.
"I'm glad you're here Ominis... I was worried... after what I did... that maybe you wouldn't be..." I hesitated.
Ronnie turned to Ominis, they must have talked. He must have told her. How long had I been out?
Ominis smiled down at me. "I'm going to grab the nurse and tell her that you're awake," he said and removed his hand from my shoulder before walking out.
