-Sebastian-

"You promised me!" I yelled again, anger and desperation lacing my words as I pulled the shadows to me trying to break from the spell Ominis had cast on me. Ominis of all people?!

We'll kill him for this.

We just saved Ronnie.

Just got her back.

The shadows' whispers sounded like they were roaring in my ears. I felt tears fill my eyes as I watched her, feeling more helpless than I had even a few days ago. Her broken body haunted my memories. Lived in my mind whether I was awake or asleep. The four days I had been out... It had been all I had been able to see.

Ronnie finally turned to look at me her green eyes pleading with me to understand her, but couldn't. "I'm sorry... I had to..." she pleaded.

I felt tears fall from my eyes as I watched her sacrifice herself yet again. Willingly sacrificing her life as if it didn't matter when it was the only thing I cared about. "You promised me..." my voice broke as I felt the shadows working against the spell that held me and Ominis' grip on his wand tightened, trying to maintain it.

"I had accepted Anne's fate! And now you are forcing me to stand here and watch while I lose the only people I ever cared about! You bloody selfish bastard!" I yelled at Ominis, rage twisting my features as tears continued to fall in my anger, and betrayal, and agonizing desperation.

I felt the spell weaken for a moment and it was all I needed to break myself free. "Sebastian... She can do it, you have to trust her..." Ominis advised as I sent shadows snaking along the ground towards him, holding him down as he had me as I sneered at him.

"There's a difference between trusting her and not letting her do something foolish! You weren't there! You didn't see what I saw! I thought I lost her! And you'd make me go through that again not even a week later!" I yelled at him the shadows grip on him growing.

"Lumos Solem," Ominis cast, causing the shadows to shrink back but not by much. "Sebastian! I'm trying to help you! She's trying to help you!" Ominis shouted back.

I sent the shadows back towards him. "You have never wanted to help me-"

Ronnie's pained scream tore through my anger bringing me back to the reality of the situation, that I'd been focusing on the wrong person.

I pulled the shadows back to me as I whirled towards her and watched in near-crippling horror as she pulled a sickly green mist-like magic from Anne. It swirled around her arm as she fell to her knees beside Anne's bed, the relic tumbling out of her hand. Pain contorted her features like it had Anne's for years.

Ominis hurried to Anne's side putting pressure on her chest wound as I fell to my knees beside Ronnie, reaching out for her as shadows wreathed my tattooed arm and writhed around me like living smoke.

"No!" Ronnie hissed out through gritted teeth as tears tore from her eyes at the pain. "Don't... touch-" her words were cut off by another piercing, pained scream and she hunched forward.

"Ronnie! Let me help! How can I help? Please!" I pleaded my voice tight in panic and fear. Not again... I couldn't lose her... not like this... not to the curse that was supposed to kill my sister... not to the curse that had driven me to madness.

"I...-" Ronnie gritted her teeth to muffle another scream, her eyes closed as she shook in pain. I then could only watch on as the sickly green mist started to retreat to her hand as if she was willing it all there. Her brow dripped in sweat and her white hair fell around her, sticking to her skin as tears of pain fell from her eyes.
