We both remove our dresses simultaneously, revealing our bikinis that we decided on earlier. She's wearing a red one with lace detail around the bottoms whilst mine is just all black to match my dress.
She grabs my hand and begins to run towards the pool, pulling me behind her as we both giggle. She drags me in as we both jump at the edge and I feel the water fill my ears before we both resurface at long last. I push my hair back out of my face and see Shoko re-emerge in front of me.
I pull myself up to sit on the edge of the pool so my legs remain in the water as I swirl them around, creating a kaleidoscope of ripples as I do so. I watch Suguru get out of the pool from next to me and grab another drink from the table, causing other partiers to begin to exit the pool also.
It seems that people are starting to leave, which I'm not exactly sad about. I make eye contact with Satoru from across the pool and he swims over in my direction, once he reaches me, resting his hand on the side of the pool for support.
He pushes his wet hair back out of his face as he does so and looks up at me.
"Are you having a good time?" He asks and I smile at the fact that he wants my opinion, even if he's just making small talk.
"I am, thanks. I like the fact there's not too many people." I say and he looks around in response.
"Yeah, it's better this way." He replies.
"Shoko said that they're usually a lot more busy... your parties I mean."
"Yeah, I wanted to tone this one down." He replies, and I'm glad he did. "I wanted to make someone feel more at ease." He says before pulling away slightly from the wall of the pool.
Before I can follow up on what he said, I feel him grab my legs and yank me off the edge. I let out a yelp as I'm dragged underwater and kick and flail my arms in an attempt to get him to let go of me.
I eventually rise up out of the water and breach the surface as I hear Satoru's laugh. I brush the water out of my eyes and push back my hair from my face.
"You..." Is all I get out as I lurch towards him, grabbing his shoulders in an attempt to push him under. It works for about one second as his head is fully submerged, but he grabs my waist, pushing himself off from the bottom of the pool and throwing me backwards in the process.
I resurface for a second time and hear Geto call out from the side of the pool.
"Don't be an ass Satoru." He warns, causing Satoru to roll his eyes in response. He swims back over to me and I rub my eyes.
"I didn't even get a chance to close them, now they're stinging." I say as I attempt to rub the water out of my eyes whilst laughing. He grabs my wrist whilst we both tread water, pulling my hand away from my face as he does so.
"Don't rub them. You'll make it worse." He says as he reaches his hand up to my face, using his thumb to swipe away the water droplets around my eyes. He pauses for a second as his hand rests itself on my cheek, and I feel them begin to heat up as his intense stare appears to travel right through me. The ripples of the water mean that a pattern of blue lights are reflected onto his face, as a result his eyes look even more vibrant than usual.
I'd usually pull away right now, but the alcohol in me is making it difficult to do so. I return his gaze and rest one of my hands on his arm for support as my legs begin to get tired from swimming in one place. This makes him move closer towards me and he adjusts his hand so that it's flat against my face, cupping it as he draws me closer.
"Satoru?" I hear a shrill voice from behind him say and I'm broken out of my alcoholic daze as my senses return. I swim backwards and distance myself slightly from him as his grasp remains on my wrist, keeping a connection between us despite the ever growing gap.
